A Beloved Book to Pass Down
The book was in excellent condition. And I found a wonderful surprise inside; the book was signed by the illustrator. I loved reading it aloud to my granddaughters!

a wonderful, charming story!
I was a bookseller in a small resort town when I found this treasure. My daughter was about 3 at the time, a bit young to "get it" but it became her favorite story. We counted the cats on every page, the reading became very interactive with her questions. There were nighs that I read the book, at her request, 3 times. A fabulous learning, interactive story. Let it rip and make it fun! A must have in every child's library!

Wonderful message.
This was a HUGE success with our 3rd graders. This story has the perfect balance of teaching a valuable lesson with just enough seriousness and humor. It ties in nicely with common core (resources, recyclables) and did I mention the students LOVED it.In this story Agatha explains, "Everything comes from something. Nothing comes from nothing. Just like paper comes from trees and glass comes from sand. An answer comes from a question all you have to do is ask."

A picture book for older children
I love this little story! Aside from my resemblance to Agatha and fondness of cats and textiles, this story is a wonderful reminder that there is "opportunity cost" to every decision. The illustrations are outstanding and include nature facts.
