An excellet tool at a good price from a prompt and responsible provider
The IWISS® PEX-1210C PEX Crimp Ring Remove Tool does its job very well -- when used correctly. An excellet tool at a good price from a prompt and responsible provider.Basically there are two things to understand about this tool or other brands of copper-crimp remover. First, calibrate the tool -- something that should have been explained in an accompanying instruction sheet. There are two adjusters, the one on the side and the screw mechanism that strikes it. The shiny sticker shows the positions for the side adjuster (for one-half inch PEX, turn it so the "dash" is aligned with the notch). Most important, however, is the extending screw adjuster. To get the best setting, experiment with an installed ring until the adjustment is right: this means until squeezing the handles produces an audible click and cuts the ring without slicing through the PEX tube. Ideally, the tube will have only a slight cut or an indentation. As someone has explained, the ring comes off easily when you cut the ring and then apply limited pressure on the opposite side. This will open the ring so it comes off easily. If the ring is completely cut on the opposite side, one half will likely pop off and leave the other half stuck to the tube (not hard to detach, but wastes a bit of time). The second basic problem: dislodging the tube from the fitting after removing the ring. PEX tends to stiffen and set around the fitting after crimped. If the ring is cut properly, the tube itself must be cut off very close to the copper fitting, which leaves very little tube surface to grip with pliers (even if you manage to get a hold, the tube usually will not give if the ring was crimped correctly). I usually dislodge the tube by softening it a bit with a heat gun and pulling on it with pliers -- avoid clamping the pliers too tightly (just enough to pull the softened tube without damaging the copper fitting). For other methods, Google "How to remove . . ." Many tips available on the internet.

Works perfectly
I just replaced my water filtration system, which has multiple valves and filters. When I removed the plumbing that was in place, I cut the PEX hoses then used this tool to cut the crimp rings off of the fittings. It worked like a charm. I was able to re-use the fittings with no issues. The tool is easy to use and doesn’t require the strength of a gorilla. I am pleased with this purchase.

Works surprisingly well
I've accumulated a considerable pile of PEX fittings that needed to have the old crimp rings removed. Grinding them off was tedious and slow. It's a snap to use this tool as directed. It removes both the copper crimp ring and the remaining piece of tubing very easily. It takes less than a minute to complete the process and you don't need to have a strong grip to make it work. One variation from the included directions that I would suggest is to make two butterfly cuts instead of one as they suggest. This will make sense to you once you see the directions. The tool appears to be very well made and I see no reason for it to ever break.

Works flawlessly, breaks the copper ring and can also spread it for easy removal.
I have used it on 1/2" PEX and on 3/4" PEX and it is easy to use. I am 80 yrs old and can cut the rings with one hand on the tool and the other hand holding the fitting I am trying to remove the PX and ring from, no problem at all! So far I have only taken off about a dozen rings, but the tool seems quite well made and I received it second day when ordering from Amazon.

Pinch ring set and remover
Seems to be a very good quality and has a ratchet device which is tremendously helpful to maintain pressure until the final crimp is applied. By turning device 90° the cramp and ring may be removed.

Quick and easy
An indispensable tool for quickly and efficiently removing crimp rings from those valuable fittings.Takes the effort ot of salvaging the fitting however you will need something to pry the crimp ring open in order to remove it. Does a great job snapping the copper ring which is the otherwise difficult part.

simple crimp ring removal
on time delivery, simple cut first side, score second side until butterfly bend allows ring to drop off. Does not damage either brass or polyB plastic fittings fittings allowing them to be reused.
