Brabantia Extra Large Kitchen Touch Top Trash Can 60L/16 Gal.

Never thought I would review a trash can......however this is worthy! I have a nook side of cabinets I keep a bin (small pantry to put inside that area). Have always had issue how it opens, either against the wall or the cabinets. This barrel fits perfect, and the touch opening seal back is super quality. Also, unlike other stainless steel kitchen appliances, this one doesn't leave prints, marks etc. and just looks high end altogether. Perfect size, shape and functional as a trash canister should be (we cook a lot!). LOVE THIS

When buying online, the most important thing to me is excellent customer service because sometimes things go wrong or aren’t what you expected.Glad customer service is EXCELLENT. The lid to my trash can didn’t open properly and, without hesitation, Glad sent me a new one immediately which works perfectly.By the way, this trash can is terrific. Very large capacity for our big family. No more trash can odor in my kitchen, which was unsanitary (and gross!).Sometimes you just luck out and buy a product that really makes a difference. With something that’s used as often as a kitchen trash can, it better be high quality and sturdy. That’s the Glad trash can.

Was so glad that I could buy exact trash can we have had for over 10 years. I'm sure it would have lasted longer had I not slammed the cover shut so many times when in a rush. This is the perfect size (height), looks really nice in the kitchen, and the price is fair. I believe it's made for 16 gallon bag, but 13 gallon works. We simply filled inside bottom with some 5 gallon covers to make up for the gap. There are likely several other solutions for this. Thank-you Amazon for carrying this product.

The first Brabantia I bought lasted twenty years, only requiring a top replacement once.I purchased the first from Bed and Bath I purchased the 2nd from Home Depot. My family member liked it so much I purchased her one from Amazon at a better price than the first two.

I love this trash can so much that this is the 3rd time I've purchased it!The first time was sooooo long ago, the can is white! (Maybe 15 years old?) I don't think they even make white anymore. When I graduated to stainless appliances, that can was moved into a workshop garage. That can is still in working order, still in perfect shape and still using the first original clip on the latch!The 2nd can is stainless, about 10 years old and still in working order with the same first clip on the latch. The outside of the can still looks brand new. I do remove the lid and clean the inside fairly frequently.I bought this 3rd can in stainless b/c we moved to a house with two kitchens and I wanted one in each.I would like to note that this newer can feels a lot lighter than the last one, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Time will tell. The last one doesn't have any dings in it and I hope this lighter version will hold up as well. It's easier to move, but I only move it slightly to clean the floor. Also the handles on the sides have almost disappeared. That kind of bothered me at first, but I'm already used to it now. The ones on the last one made it easier to pick up, but these smaller ones still work. They changed the lid and the latch. I like the lid and I'm hoping the newer latch holds up as well as they did on the other cans. This one didn't come with a replacement latch like my other two cans did, but like I said, I never had to use them anyway, but they're in a drawer just in case. The last change is that there is a smaller rim inside the lid. This is a great change, my last can always caught food and splashes on the big rim, so I'm hoping this makes it easier to stay clean.

This could have been the best no touch trash can on the market, bit it's got one massive and tragic flaw.I'd surely give this trash can 5 stars if it weren't for the EXTREMELY LOUD and literally VIOLENT cracking/snapping sound it makes every time I close the inner lid after replacing the liner. It sound like plastic exploding, and I just don't trust that the trash can will last because all that stress is sure to break whatever is flexing so terribly out of place as I lift up the lid, then cracking back into it's proper position when closing it again.I've tried pushing, pulling, squeezing and finagling with thing each time I replace the bag, but nothing seems to make a difference in whatever's causing the super loud crack from occurring. I have to imagine it's simply a design issue, but one that wasn't caught because the design never got extensively tested. It took about 2 weeks for ours to start exhibiting this problem.By the way, I'm not talking about the foot pedal operated smaller lid that you use throughput the day... that one didn't have any issues (at least at first), but operated extremely smoothly.However, now that the big cracking has been going on for a while, I'm noticing the smaller foot petal lid has begun creaking/groaning as it finishes shutting.Seriously, that wasn't making any noise at first, and as the big cracking has gotten louder and more extreme, the volume of the groaning has been growing worse as well.It's a real shame, because everything else about this trash can is perfect. It's a great size, shape, material, etc. I was about to buy a second one for recycling, but fortunately procrastinated just long enough for the dreaded cracking to rear it's ugly head.Team Simple Human: what gives? This FLAW was pointed out in MANY other reviews and you claimed it was fixed. Why are you still shipping flawed product???At $100... I cannot recommend that anyone purchase this thing. I'm a grown man; I ride horses, hunt, shoot and drive fast for fun, but I hate changing the liners on this damn trash can because I'm terrified it's going to either explode or snap my fingers in half. My wife won't even go near it when it's time to change the liner...Until this issue is fully resolved, I recommend everyone look elsewhere for your kitchen trash can needs.
