Great Lunch box! Little by little I fell in love with it…..
I went on a field trip last month in NYC with my daughter's 4th grade class and while we were having lunch I noticed a boy from her class eating out of a nice metallic tray. I immediately thought "what a brilliant idea", good bye to washing all that toper ware for my kids (it takes about 20 min of my busy evening to wash all those containers). When I got home I googled the brand and each tray costs about $60, no kidding!!! I thought: no way!!!, but I liked the idea so much that I ended up emailing the boy's mom anyway to ask her about the metallic lunchbox. Fortunately (because I couldn't see myself spending all that money on lunch boxes) the boy's mom discouraged me from getting that lunch box claiming various flaws including how heavy and bulky it was to carry. So I decided to start hunting for the best lunch tray! After reading many reviews I decided to give this Bento Box a try so i ordered two. When I got them I though they were beautiful, perfect size and they didn't feel heavy at all. I knew that they wouldn't fit in my kids lunchbox but I find lunch boxed generally bulky so I was actually happy with the idea of sending the trays in a big ziploc bag that I could reuse (although I will probably buy the carrying bag that goes with the Bento Box soon). I tried to opened the bento box and I couldn't do it! I noticed a "push" sign on the middle of the box but when I pushed it down nothing happened. I didn't panic! I just kept trying in different ways until I opened it. My first thought was: My kids will never open this box on their own in a million years. But I knew that such a great design couldn't come with such a major flaw so I assumed that I was just missing something. So I went online to their website (provided in a flyer that comes in the box) and right away found the instruction on how to open the box with a drawing and all. I followed the directions and voila! Easy as pie, the box opened. But this didn't happened when my kids tried. So I kept the box for a few days trying to decide if I should return them or not. But they were so cute!!. Also the airtight closure, which is the reason why you need to open the box with a certain technic, is a great feature (no leaking, no mixing foods from separate compartments, etc). I decided the Bento Box was worth keeping even if I were to use them only for occasions when I could help the kids open the box (field trips) or for when they got a little bigger. But then I received my first email from the Lifemark Labs, the product makers asking me about my experience with the box. I took the opportunity to mention everything I wish was different about the lunch box and they took their time offering me a solution for every situation (i.e. when I complained about the closure, they mentioned that the latest boxes will come with opening instructions; when I said that my kids couldn't open it, he gave me tips about how his child opens the box) so I tried all those tips and they all worked. My kids learned to open the box independently on their second try and they took it for school and loved it. I love it too and love the company behind it--excellent costumer service. They clearly have a passion for making quality products and listen to what the costumers have to say. I'm happy I followed my gut and didn't return the box because it is actually great! And cleaning takes me two minutes! Se the pics! The food looks so appetizing when it is nicely packed like this!

I love this bento box
I love this bento box!!! It is a beautiful alternative to monbento boxes that are supper expensive when you include the shipping price. I think this box is stylish and it functions very well, I can put soup in one of the compartments and have dry food in the other two without any spills, that was something that always worries me because I hate mixed food, I think is gross lol, it is microwave safe (only the base, the lid does not go into the microwave) which is a must for lunch boxes however a lot of bento boxes out there are not, so this is definitely a five start product if you also consider that there is a good amount of space to have a good meal.Lifemark Labs customer service is also top notch, they communicate with you to make sure you are happy with the product and to know if there's anything they can improve, companies like that are worth of keeping up with.My conclusion is, if you want a good quality lunch box at a very fair price that is also cute, this is your Bento Box.

Love this Leak-proof Bento Box
I usually wait a while to write a review. I want to make sure that a product holds up over time. I have not had this product for very long and I will update on durability at a later time. However, I love this product.I was worried it would be hard to seal the product. It was not at all. I am thrilled that my lunch today - homemade chili, rice, and honeydew was not contaminated by each other at all. They didn't even smell like each other. I love that it is microwavable and dishwasher safe. It also looks good, is easy to carry, and has a good portion amounts. I love it so much I am going to order a second one. I typically bring breakfast and lunch to work and this will be the perfect way to pack both.I ordered my children a different version. For a few dollars more it came with a lunch bag. This one does not. For me it was not a big deal since I take a bag to work anyway. An optional or included lunch bag would be the only way that I could think to make it better.

Awesome bento box!
Excellent product! I reviewed several different types of bento boxes before deciding on this one, and I'm so glad I did. I can easily tuck it into my briefcase or carry bag (it even fits in my daughter's lunch box). The compartments are roomy and contents don't mingle when it's tossed around. The only trick is to follow their instructions on how to open and close the box, which is to press on the middle while unsnapping each of the sides and then gently pulling up the top to break the seal it creates. Might be a little challenging for little ones, but for older kids and adults it's not a problem. I will be buying another one, my kids are already taking ownership of it!

Works great and is easy to use
I like everything about this box except that I wish it were a little deeper. Bulkier foods, such as bigger slices of tomatoes, are harder to cram into the compartments. But - that's not a big deal. What is great is that the box is very sturdy, the clips work well and are not hard to open or close (as I have found with a couple of others' boxes) and it is definitely leakproof. It also fits into a lunch bag well. I will buy again if I need one.

Perfect for Portion Control!
I bought this product to help me with my diet (which comes and goes). It's perfect for portion control and helps me stick with the Canadian food guide (1/2 vegetables, 1/4 protein, 1/4 grain). It's not exactly leak proof as my soup always leak out, so I avoid putting those in there now. Can do cold or hot food (microwavable). Pushing in the middle of the cover while closing prevents food from leaking into one another (as long as it's not soup). Cover clicks shut at all four sides.Perfect for people on diets, portion control, kids, and everything else (but soup haha).
