Tickle your taste buds
I am a self proclaimed preserve snob and I have tasted many fruit preserves, spreads and jams. Store bought brands to the exotic, I've tried them all but Tiptree brand. All I can say is, WHOLLY JESUS! Little Scarlet is a find among finds. The color is true rouge red with a nice glass jar, feels good in the hand. I hear that pop of the cap and then behold...the scent of fresh ripe strawberries begging to be picked on a sunny day. Spreads very nicely on my buttered warm biscuit, not CHUNKY nor watered down, I take the first bite. It tickles the tongue with a little sweetness then a tinge of tartness which I REALLY enjoy. A little goes a long way. I want any prospective buyer of Tiptree Little Scarlet to just buy it. Taste it. Covet it.

It is luscious... And bursting with flavor!
Yes it's expensive. The texture is rich and thick bursting with wild strawberries. It's a rare treat. There's a reason it is James Bond's and HRH Elizabeth II favorite. It's a kind of jam (Real jam... Not fruit spread) your grandmother would've made after picking wild strawberries in May. If you love strawberry jam like I do... You'll love it. Sadly it's just a 12 ounce jar... Which did not last very long... There are worst ways to spend $11. It's very special.

this is the best tasting strawberry preserves that I have ever tasted
Strawberrys from HEAVEN. Oh my, this is the best tasting strawberry preserves that I have ever tasted. Real strawberry taste, from ripe strawberry. Very impressive, like the homemade preserves I enjoyed in the 1960’s when strawberries had flavor.I have NOT received any kind of promotion, for this review, from only the truth I tell the.

Tasty and not overly sweet marmalade
Some orange marmalade recipes taste so sweet that they put my teeth on edge. While this orange and whisky blend is still sweet, it has just the right amount of tang. The whisky taste is subtle but gives it an extra bit of flavor. This marmalade, in addition to being tasty, has a nice consistency and is easy to spread.

An interesting change of pace.
Wilkins and Sons Tiptree Brand orange marmalade has been a favorite of mine since the 1970's but it's always been hard to find, even here in San Francisco. No major stores ever carried the brand and it would appear sporadically at different specialty shops. Those shops would close after a while and then I'd have to wait for another. So I've naturally been delighted to find a dependable supplier through Amazon. My regular favorite is the standard medium cut, with the Tawny as a change of pace. I had never known they made a whiskey-infused marmalade. Crabtree & Evelyn used to and it was good but when they were taken over they stopped making all edibles. So I was happy to find this. It's a bit lighter than the medium, the peel is thinner cut and there is a slightly bitter aftertaste. Though the medium cut will still be my standard, I'll continue to get this style now and then.I've noticed in reviews that some people find Tiptree marmalade too sweet. If you like strongly bitter marmalade I recommend Robertsons.

Good enough for James Bond
I'm something of a James Bond nerd and Tiptree "Little Scarlet" strawberry preserves is mentioned as being a part of James Bond's breakfast in Ian Fleming's novel, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. It was this small connection to James Bond that got me to try a jar of these preserves. I'm glad I did. These strawberry preserves are absolutely delicious. Sweet and flavorful and even wonderful on their own. The preserves also pair well with Peter Pan Honey Roasted peanut butter.

Divine jam. I should buy a case so it will be available when I want it. We simply can not get the fruit to make this at home. Thank God for Amazon who will deliver all that goodness by the case. Two days later: I did order a case, it came today and I feel ready for winter. We can have tea and scones by the fire and eat summer with a spoon right out of the jar.

Tiptree Little Scarlet Strawberry Conserve is the best ever strawberry jam
Best ever strawberry jam. You will never find a better strawberry jam than Tiptree Little Scarlet Conserves. This jam is made from the Little Scarlet strawberry that originated here in the US but now is grown only in Britain. They are a tiny strawberry loaded with a special flavor and this jam is packed with them. The jam is made with sugar; no fructose syrup goes near it.Little Scarlet is heaven on a spoon. Try it and you will be spoiled for life.

Recipe has changed. Not as good as before.
I think the recipe has changed. Tiptrees older Malt Whisky marmalade had SO much more depth of taste. This one isn’t bad but has a fake taste to it and certainly nowhere near the depth of the older one. It’s almost as if the whisky is an artificial flavouring that sits ‘on top’ of the Orange rather than blending and enhancing it.Also it is now a fine cut marmalade. If memory serves, I believe the older version was a bit more thick cut (though this does not affect my rating).Sadly I ordered 2 jars as I wasn’t aware it had changed. I won’t be ordering this again. Shame.

Little Scarlet, Mr.Bond?
This Jam is really special stuff. Best to google it to find out more...It is handpicked usually by volunteers who return each year ( mainly pensioners) - it is made the same day as the fruit literally bursts from the weight of other strawberries on top. The flavour is stunning. It is the jam that James Bond eats ( according to Ian Fleming) & the queen is partial to it.Actually found it in Tescos the other day & obviously it was cheaper without any carriage so I bought a few jars. When they are gone they are gone until next harvest.

Whisky flavoured Orange Marmalade
I purchased this for my husband, both a marmalade and a whisky fan, of which I am neither!! He loves this on his toast but saves it as a once a week treat so that it lasts that bit longer, storing it in the fridge in between times. I am unable to buy this in local supermarkets so it has to be an online purchase. Very happy with this product and will continue to buy it.

Delicious with just enough zest for a bit of bite. Unlike the champagne jam, you can taste the whisky in this.. Personally I would like a slightly stronger whisky taste and will be rushing to buy that version if Tiptree will make it.. ^_^ but is still absolutley delicious :p

Delicious
This has to be my 'desert island luxury', I am addicted to Old Times. Sadly my first save and subscribe order of a pack of 6 arrived with one broken jar. If it happens again I will need to re-consider the cost factor.

So tasty
We love Tiptree. The only thing that’s irritating, is that the glass is so deep, you can never get the last bit of marmalade out from the bottom.

Damaged on Arrival - Again !!
The package arrived this morning with one broken jar and one with the seal broken. That means two out of the six jars had to be binned. Third time we have ordered and the third time at least one of the jars was damaged. Just not good enough

Expensive, but what a taste!
Wow! I have never tasted strawberry jam with a flavour as intense as Little Scarlet. My only issue is the price, it is very expensive.
