Century, Mini Edition: One Hundred Years of Human Progress, Regression, Suffering and Hope Hardcover – June 9, 2002

I had this book years ago, but misplaced it after multiple moves. My children are bigger now and ask questions about history, and I thought it would be a great way to teach them about real events by showing them photos from a book instead of online, as it’s more tactile and easier to supervise. Obviously some images in this collection are graphic and require parental guidance, yet it’s a useful tool when I try explaining difficult concepts about war and conflict. The book itself is in a nearly perfect condition, being gently used gives it character. It was delivered fast. Highly recommend as a classic coffee table book for any home (with older children). Also, I didn’t realize it was a large format, the copy I used to have was smaller and the size was an added bonus.

I was waiting in my doctors office when I saw this on his coffee table. I only got about 1/5th of the way through so I had to order it. It has some of the most amazing black and white pictures that you will ever see from history. It is one of those coffee table books that you can only look at a few minutes and then you have to put it down but you don't want to but because of it's size you have to. It is about the size of your hand in width, length and height.

I loved this book so much I wanted to share it with my father. I had no idea when I purchased it that it was written in Italian. I have bought hundreds of books on Amazon and they have always been in English. I feel as if I have been fooled. Be careful if you’re thinking of buying this. Do not assume that just because you are buying a book from an American company in the United States that it will be in English.

This book is very cool and interesting but when I got mine the spine was ripped on the ends. It's still a fantastic book but it was a little disappointing when it came brand new with rips. It's huge and otherwise a perfect historical book.

This is an interesting sized history of the 20th Century, with many stirring photos. Besides being a refresher for the things that I should remember from my own experiences and education, it has opened my eyes to many events around the world. Very informative.

This book is an excellent assortment of imagery with background information provided for all images. I have the tiny version but the full size edition would be an excellent "coffee table" type reference. Nice to pick up whenever in the mood for contemplating the previous century and the good and very much bad of human achievements. It has imagery which many will find depressing and disturbing but sadly that comes with being human, one day we might learn but somehow sadly I think we won't.A very good book and if you can afford or acquire the large format version it'd be excellent indeed.
