We've lost the black, funnel-shaped transition part. Is it possible to order one separately?

Thank you for your question on the LP80 damper/duct connector. The part number for the 4" oval duct connector is 77001277. If you need the 4" to 3" reducer, that would be part number 79110158. Parts can be ordered by contacting Customer Service at 800-558-1711 or from the Parts Store on our website.

Will this fan work for kitchen exhaust?

I doubt it. I'm sizing up fans for my kitchen and the basic one is 600cfm with a grease filter. The LP80 only has 80cfm and looks suited for a small bathroom.
