I use zip ties to mend broken or damaged dog kennels, yard cleaning tools, etc. The ties are handy and convenient as they serve as third hand if you need one and a temporary repair fastener. They are also great for electrical wiring work.

Zip ties are thick and sturdy. Come in a nice clear box vs others in a bag. Gave a 4 star because I don't know how they will last through the winter. I haven't had enough time to access that yet.
