Sealy Memory Foam & Hydraluxe Gel Contour Pillow

Firm support, unlike some other contoured memory foam pillows I’ve tried in the past. The gel layer is perfect for anyone who sleeps hot or has hot flashes. Cools the head nicely. Would definitely purchase again.

This is my second of these gel covered memory foam pillows. Tip: never leave them outside when it's 100 degrees - the gel melts. I loved my first one. Unfortunately I never paid attention to who the manufacturer was. This one looked exactly the same, except for the color of the gel. But for some reason, the gel on the Sealy warms up far faster than my first one. My first one would stay cool for 15-20 minutes; but this one is warm within 5 minutes. Otherwise, soft and really comfy.

This pillow is AMAZING. I have another memory foam pillow and it's hard as a rock - I literally can't even use it and save it for guests only. This pillow, however, is much thinner and squishier while still being supportive. SO huggable and SO nice! Beware- your cat may want to use this as a bed... it's really comfy!!!! :)

My family bought two of these almost 10 years ago and have mostly enjoyed them. However, the gel never felt especially cool. What's worse, the gel has melted and become a smelly, sticky mess in the last few years; it's actually melded into the protective cover and begun to seep into the regular pillowcase. If you don't mind replacing your pillow after 5-7 years, these are fine. Otherwise, stick to non-coated memory foam.

While this pillow is extremely comfortable, the gel part caused my skin to break out in horrible acne.

Yes- it is a pillow that stays cooler....BUT it's the firmest pillow, I cannot sleep on it at all. It's like a stack of books...

This is my sushi pillow. I have been through so many pillows for sale on amazon, trying to find the one, then sending it back. It's rough when your pillow breaks down and you don't have a backup (lesson learned). Anyways, I've looked only at cooling gel overlay pillows. One was not cooling and weighed under 2 lbs. The second one was so hard that my head didn't sink into it like memory foam should. The third was so slushy and easily flattened that it caused pain in my neck and arm and finger: it completely disabled my finger and then whole hand until days after I stopped using the pillow. I never thought that could happen to me, but it did. The pain my hand woke me up in a big way. I've never had pain like that before or again.Its hard to understand reviews when they conflict or are unclear. Some reviews on each pillow product would say the pillow is rock hard, while others say about the same pillow that it's flat as a pancake with no neck support.Imo: The pillow holds my neck firmly in a solid position. My head sinks in to the pillow. It's good on my side as well. The pillow does seem a bit light weight when I lay on my side and back, the pillow kind of slips backwards. I'll try a less slippery pillowcase. Can the pillow really be 5 lbs heavy? I'll weigh it and get back to you.When I'm on my back, I bunch the pillow up under my cervical spine and it stays or if I'm on the side, I shape the pillow to support my neck and shoulder when I lay on my side. It's moldable, for now. Its not a great contour pillow when it slips backwards. I wonder how long it will last! The foam does seem to have a resiliency and denseness about it that offers that firm hold. I'll update it if the neck support fails or if the slipping gets worse.The loft isn't over 4.5 inches, FYI.FINALLY, I found a pillow that I can keep!!!!It is 2.5/5.0 cooling.One thing that I complain about is a hole that came on the pillow, in the unremovable white netting. There was an issue with weak stitching, a defect of some sort. I couldn't be bothered to return it, but docked a star for that. If they fix it, I'll change to 5 stars.
