Chopped them off into ankle boots
Had a cobbler chop these off into ankle boots because the price of the original boot was low, I rely on La Canadienne for sturdy boots in slushy winters, and I didn't like the look of a tall heeled boot. Worked out great.Good quality smooth leather, long-lasting, waterproof, will get you through multiple winters with proper maintenance. A bit narrow. Started off less comfortable than my other La Canadiennes but they loosened up and molded to my feet with wear. Close fit on both the foot and shaft. don't expect to get more than a thin sock inside these. Elevated forward sole gives a good separation from the elements, though the treads don't give quite as much traction as I would like. Painted plastic heel is vulnerable to wear but can be polished/sanded/repainted as needed if you're clumsy like I am. It took quite a lot of wear for the heel tap to need replacing and I don't expect to wear through the thick forward sole anytime soon. Overall a really good boot, though I question the designer's decision to put the big belt on these (it's sewn into the leather in a way that isn't removable).

Definitely a "must try"
I had not heard of this brand.....I don't do reviews as often as I should.....but at 47 I have become more about comfort than ever (and now love this brand)...still want to be stylish too. I could walk forever in these boots. I personally take anywhere from a size 9 to a 9.5....went with the 9.5 in case I wanted a thicker sock (cold toes quickly living in New England) and these are so comfortable and nice looking. I have what I consider to be an overall "regular" size calf but don't often find something that fits without a huge gap. Not much of a gap with a dress/skirty and barely a gap with skinny jeans. Probably would not work if you know you have larger calfs.

Unfortunately La Canadienne runs small for me
Unfortunately La Canadienne runs small for me, although I've seen some people on here say they've run large. Returned all my 8.5 orders and re-ordered 9s although my regular size s 8.5.

So Disappointed!!
Very comfortable in the foot however the second I pulled them out of the box I knew they were not 12" calf circumference as advertised. These are at least 14 ", maybe even 15". My calf circumference is 12.5" so I actually expected that these may be a bit snug. I have researched boots extensively, looking for ones for women with skinny legs. As soon as I zipped them up I, once again, looked like a 5 year-old playing dress up in Mommy's boots. I can not tell you how disappointed I am considering how comfortable and beautiful these boots are.

Stylish, narrow calf and classy boot
As usual, La Canadienne does not disappoint. The shaft of the boot is narrow, although not 12". Nice smooth leather. Narrow fit. Sole has a nice deep tread. Platform compensates for heel. I am looking forward to these stylish babies for years to come.

Sturdy construction.
Runs a little wide through the calf, but that might be so one can tuck jeans or leggings in. I plan to wear with skirts. Sturdy construction.
