so 2/3rds is a waste. So I decided to give Moonix a try ...
I was having a birthday party for my 10 yr old son, and he requested astronaut ice cream. Due to being on the Autism Spectrum, he's usually very brand specific, however he only likes the vanilla flavor and on the one he's had, they only have it in Neapolitan, so 2/3rds is a waste. So I decided to give Moonix a try and hope for the best. I ordered 3 flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, and Cotton Candy. We're used to it being one solid brick that you break pieces off of, and were pleasantly surprised that it came in bite sized pieces shaped like hearts, so there's no mess! (My son requested I add that he didn't like the hearts because they are girly, and it should be in shapes like stars or crescent moons to mimic the space themed art on the package. Just his opinion, not mine.) They all tasted good and the kids loved them. Chocolate was my favorite, the vanilla was a bit bland but still good, and the cotton candy actually tastes exactly like the vanilla part of the Neapolitan one we usually get, which made my son very happy. We did have 1 cotton candy bag that must have had a pinhole or something that allowed air in as they had a bit of a different texture, more chewy and marshmallow like. But overall they were good, surprisingly low in carbs (which I loved), and I'll definitely order again.

Strawberry tastes amazing but pricey for the amount in the puch they send you.
It is very similar to the strawberry flavor you would get buying the camping style astronaut freeze dried ice cream BUT I almost didnt purchase based on other reviews stating it was way to much money for the amount of product in each bag. They were exactly right. For the money spent on a 5ct. Of the product it was not enough product in each pouch. I love freeze dried ice cream but only strawberry or vanilla. I refuse to buy the neopalotin ice cream sandwiches because the chocolate runs the ice cream part. So I have break it apart for 1 bite of strawberry in the entire package which is usually $3.87 for a neapolitan ice cream sandwich freeze dried. The texture of the moonix brand is much softer almost more sugary when it melts. I prefer the astronaut ice cream over this now that I've tried it. But I would order once in a blue moon because strawberry is my favorite and there are no other companies other than moonix and astronaut brand that make freeze dried ice cream. I'm grateful they have individually flavors and options because its very hard to find. The price is too high for what it is though which is unfortunate otherwise I would buy it more often. They either need to add more to the bag or lower the prices.

Yummy!
True strawberry taste. Yes, it doesn't melt as smooth as other freeze dried "ice cream", but it's because it has real freeze dried strawberry pieces. The price is a bit high for what you get though, so this would not be something I'll be getting often.

My grandson loves this. He has autism and is really picky, but he loves crunchy ice cream.

The taste is great, but you get a few crumbs in a bag. It was not worth the cost for the amount received.
