With the 2012-2013 it's been a great time to watch old hockey footage on DVD. I purchased this DVD when it wasn't widely available. Because there weren't too many copies around, I paid a little more, but I don't regret it.The script on this and just about all videos of this sort is pretty bad, but that's not the reason we watch -- we watch for the sport, and there's a lot of great hockey here. At almost 2 hours running time you're watching hockey most of the time, it's not overrun by reminiscences, but that is a big part of it. While I personally find the scripted part embarrassingly awful -- it's predictable, cliche kind of stuff and that makes it easy enough to tune out -- the comments from veteran players are much appreciated. It's also just fun to see so many of these guys again after so many years.Most of these guys will tell you Bobby Orr is the best there ever was. They may very well be right. The greats all bring something a little different and Orr left a big-time stamp on the game. Some die-hard fans may think of a highlight or two that is not included, but make no mistake, there is some amazing footage collected here and the video really does bring together "the Best of Bobby Orr."

Orr is the best hockey player who ever lived...plain and simple. Anybody who knows anything about hockey should agree. Sure Gretzky was an offensive genius, but did you see him checking guys, blocking shots, fighting or killing penalties single-handedly?? I don't think so. 5 Orr's against 5 Gretzky's it would be no contest. Winning Best defenseman in the league and at the same time winnin the scoring title(twice) equals total and utter domination of your sport. Thus, he was a target for cheap shots from Goons like Bobby Clarke, Pat Quinn and Bill Barber who did not know what else to do. We all know the rest as Orr retired in his prime at the tender age of 30. One of the biggest disappointments in sports history. This dvd shows a lot of what he could do. I just ordered it and I'm assuming it's the same as the 'best of' VHS tape that I owned years ago. The best, by far, Bobby Orr

GREAT TO SEE AGAIN. FOR ALL BRUINS AND BOBBY ORR FANS

If I was a life long Bobby Orr fan, I would hate this video. The picture is not sharp considering it wasn't that long ago Bobby played in the NHL. Additionally, the video would go black for a few seconds and then come back. This was VERY annoying because it happens frequently. I returned the original disc and got a new one. Unfortunately the new disc did the very same thing in the same places as the original disc. Very poorly made and WAY OVER PRICED considering the quality.

There's much by way of talking from his peers, management and from #4 himself, but the chatter don't make it boring. Esposito and company shed light on the playing reality of their day and make it pretty durn clear that Orr was way better than anybody else. If they don't convince you, let the footage convince you. There's a lot of classic NHL footage of Orr that you just can't get anywheres else.To use the parlance of our times: This guy was sick.

I bought this as a gift for my dad as he was always an avid Bobby Orr fan, and as a child he and I watched "the goal" together. When we bought this for his Christmas gift, it was better than all of his other ones combined, and he's shared it all over work with his friends. Well worth the buy!! You really made my dad's Christmas

This is one incredible DVD! Just to see Bobby Orr skate and work his magic again is amazing. To see all the Big Bad Bruins again - Esposito, Bucyk, Sanderson - brings back all the great memories of Boston's Golden Age of Hockey. I consider this a must-see for all Bruins fans; as well of all fans of hockey. I can't get enough of this DVD - highly recommended.

Pour moi, toute époque confondue, Bobby Orr fut le meilleur joueur de hockey de la LNH. D'ailleurs, il est considéré comme le joueur numéro 1 de tous les temps. Ce que j'ai apprécié de l'histoire de ce joueur de hockey est de le voir réaliser ses prouesses sur la patinoire. Il n'a joué que 10 ans et sans ses blessures, aucun joueur de défense n'aurait battu aucun de ses records s'il avait pu jouer 10 saisons de plus. Formidable, ce DVD...comme celui de Wayne Gretzky que je possède. Les voir réaliser, avec le recul, tous ces jeux sur la patinoire m'ont gavé. Il est dommage qu'il n'y ait pas un DVD ou un Blu-Ray où l'on voit Gordie Howe lui-même en action. Le voir lui et non un acteur...Pour BOBBY ORR: EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking all over for this DVD for my dad. I finally found it here and bought it right away for a great deal. Fast shipping. Perfect condition.

My husband loves it. Will keep a look out for more hockey dvds....but the ones we want are too expensive.Edith Gaspar

As someone who is too young to have been alive during Bobby Orr's playing days, this video gave me a glimpse of how great he truly was. A must-see DVD for any hockey fan, especially if you never seen him play. The production of the video isn't really big-budget and it's a little old, but the highlights of Orr more than make up for that.
