Lots of research prior to buying - BB2000 was an excellent choice
I had never bought a bidet prior to this one, the BB2000. I"ve traveled Europe a bit, and even Japan, kept wondering "what do they know that we don't know? (Americans who mostly don't use bidets)". Now I get it.I"ve had the BB2000 for 4 weeks now, thus I"ll impart some comments to hopefully assist others.Choice of this bidet vs other products will be a theme here since it occupied most of my time being a new buyer.Price: I researched all the "luxury" bidets with a target range of price of 300-600. Couldn't stomach going over that price for something on the toilet and new to my experience. But then again, if your rectum is happy all day, and not itching or whatever, you'd pay that price easily right? Still, there aren't many in the ultra range above this price level, so I set my ceiling at 600.Features:1. Lid automatic. Not important to me, and likely not desired. Wife likes to keep the lid up at all times. Moved this down on the list of interest.2. Water stream/pressure. This is kind of the point of the whole thing, which in the end (that's a pun) made it THE most important thing. The BB2000 gets marks across all reviews as the most powerful pressure. I find the higher pressure selection (some people call it the enema stream) as a great feature when one wants a little extra pressure/stream. One can always back it down with the multitude of adjustments/selections in this bidet. Thus, start at the top and work your way down means select the best pressure for water. This consideration/feature tipped the scales to buy the BB2000. I"m very pleased we made this choice as the other features just are of lesser interest/function comparatively.3. Install. Took me about 20 minutes. Easy. I did swap out the hose on my initial toilet water inlet. All the necessary pieces come with the BB2000, awfully pleased at that as I made no extra purchases or stops at the hardware store.4. White vs "biscuit" color. I have a biscuit color toilet with all other seats prior as that color. But, I had no interest in paying an extra 200 bucks for white vs tan... and chose white. Looks great! I'd choose white again for sure. The unit is large enough that it'll block all other colors and our room is not ultrabright lights to show the contrast.5. Night light. The BB2000 has a "soft blue" glow. I can take it or leave it - not a key feature to me. Wife likes it though, so I"ll put in a checkmark in that column. Initially I wondered about the side light vs the bowl light in other products. The side is perfectly fine, and I don't need to have any other light for my late night stream aim. I kinda like the side light better actually.6. Remote. Really? all these people complaining about the remote? I think it's great, so does the wife. I like using the remote without having to wiggle around looking for/at the buttons on the seat or on an arm. THe remote here for BB2000 is super easy and always works, at least thus far in 4 weeks. Someone complained that they had to "aim" the IR beam at the seat in one review I saw. I can't believe that as we aim it in any direction ...actually we don't aim it at all... and it works great. It's a little larger than I thought it would be - about 50% larger and longer than a deck of playing cards. I like this size. The install on the wall is an adhesive, and a must for ease of setting it down/removal for use. Love the remote. Other complaints were about the lack of a back light in the buttons. That was something I considered, but after a few uses, one figures out the location of the buttons one desires quickly...it's not that complicated. Plus, the blue night light resolves that issue. No concern. Love the remote.7. Dryer. Really? someone on a review said it correctly when they stated one shouldn't expect a hand-dryer power like that in a public restroom...and that puts it into perspective. True, the flow of air does come from center left (when seated) with a little more on the left butt/glute than the right. But for me, it has plenty of air flow. Now, I"m 6 feet tall and 170 lbs. If I were significantly "larger" in weight or height, I think this would be more of a problem. In the end, pat to dry is what most people likely do anyway with one or two sheets (vs using multiple more for wiping instead of the bidet).Okay, criticisms:-I can't really cite any issues. Install was super easy. Features including remote are great. Looks super. Odor control is fine, but not awesome.-I will say that I wonder if alot of the negative concerns are from larger people in height and/or weight? On the whole, this is a "smaller" seat. I don't think it would do well for someone 250+ lbs or 6'4" or taller. But then, the whole bidet experience is likely challenged for those folks who carry alot of extra weight/mass is what I"m guessing. If I were larger, I would research that angle quite a bit for a larger seat in length and width. As a person new to the bidet gig, I did alot of research on the different products and tried to figure out the key differences and critically explore which features were worth paying for. Hopefully this review saves the next person some effort. I bought my BB2000 off of Amazon. A key competitor in my research was the matched in price Toto product. I did look at about 4 or 5 other company product lines, but narrowed it two these two companies. As stated above, I finally bought this one as I was convinced it offered the "industry best" pressure in water. That may or may not be true, but water pressure was key in my selection, satisfaction with the BB2000, and I've been very happy with it.

Replaced Alpha Bidet with THIS!
First, I have noticed most/many reviews raving about ANY higher-end bidet from the perspective of why they are WAY better than, well, wadded up paper. :-) These reviews are 100% TRUE, but did not help me MUCH for perspective in my second bidet purchase for my new, "unequipped" home. This is a comparison review between the Alpha JX I purchased a few weeks ago and this (superior) BioBidet 2000.I purchased the Alpha JX because with all the reviews raving about all brands, the most distinguishable difference I could find was that the Alpha's seat was better made, more sturdy, overall of higher quality. This turned out to be absolutely TRUE.BUT...T... :-) (Sorry, couldn't resist.)As an... "experienced" toilet-seat bidet user, I quickly adjusted the nozzle pressure and position during my first use of the Alpha JX, but was disappointed that the very furthest forward position was barely far enough for me to "utilize" the spray for proper cleaning. Sitting further back on the seat during subsequent uses was both awkward and only marginally effective. I also noticed confirmation of another review I'd read that the Alpha's spray deflects back onto the toilet seat behind you, requiring a little wipe-down after use. I don't think any inconvenience should be necessary when throwing down this kind of money for a high-end amenity... doo you? (I really am sorry...)I wanted very badly to like my hard-researched purchase, so I persevered and considered that maybe my spray issues were a side-effect of the "round-bowl model vs. the oval I had in my last house. Then, I also noticed that the drying function of the Alpha seemed to come in from one side (assymetry, if you will... HA!). I couldn't remember that feeling with my first BioBidet, but didn't use the function much. Reviews about the drying function are all accurate. MUCH PATIENCE is needed if you want to utilize this function with any brand bidet. Put a small towel rack next to the toilet. I PROMISE, you're dabbing clean water off clean skin when these machines are handling the dirty work first!HERE IS THE CRUX OF MY REVIEW... To test my uncertainties about the Alpha JX, I ordered this BioBidet BB2000 (round bowl) and installed it this afternoon... just in time for the day. :-) ONE USE and I'm returning the Alpha! I only need the 3rd or 4th position of the 5-position nozzle for comfortable cleaning, there is no spray-back behind you onto the seat. Round-model BioBidet has none of the Alpha's issues. Even the air is symmetrical if you choose to try to use the drying function.THE BB SEAT IS INFERIOR TO ALPHA. C'mon BioBidet! You make this AWESOME machine...but the seat is your after-thought. Not very sturdy with the lid down... and the hinge of the seat is not as solid and smooth as Alpha's. BB...YOU CAN DOO BETTER! But seriously... who spends a lot of time sitting on their toilet seat cover? You? Well then, consider this MINOR deficiency.BioBidet is a LITTLE BIT harder to install. Their bracket thing has two extra moving parts and you really need to screw the lugs down hard once properly positioned over your bowl... but once installed, it is the better experience, over (and under) all!ADDITIONAL PERKS:--No brand other than BioBidet that I know of has the "Vortex" function. This is a game changer for those days where you're not getting the "smooth finish" to your business you'd hoped for. Game. Changer.--In spite of the looser hinge, the BioBidet's seat itself is contoured differently and more to my liking than Alpha's.I am returning the Alpha JX and keeping the BioBidet BB2000. BOTH ARE GREAT... but the Vortex function and the nozzle positioning limits of the BioBidet (even round seat) far outweigh the Alpha's superior seat hinge and lid strength.Happy spraying!

So easy to Install a 70+ year old can do it
First and foremost, a GFI power outlet is needed nearby (likely a local safety code requirement). The power chord is not that long. One will require to have an electrician put one in.The detailed step by step Instructions were easy to understand. But I must first say that it would require someone just a little bit handy with tools and the basic understanding of the toilet configuration and how it works, i.e. knowing what and how to loosen and remove the connections on a typical setup. A little patience is needed as well for almost all first time installers. The remote is easy to understand. Worth the effort specially if one desires a sense of accomplishment which will make the experience rewarding and satisfying.
