Brilliant bit of kit, I have one or two items which i would like to use when out and about. Having this in the car means I can run my laptop charger in the car, I can also run a LED tv to show clients images out in the field. The fact it can be used either directly off a battery or a car power point makes it versatile for a few tasks. It's small size means it can fit in the spare wheel well out of the way, which is considerably more portable than other options.

We were without power for days after Eunice. Outside, there was our fully-charged EV, VERY reluctant to part with any of its electricity. The only open circuit I found were the jump start posts. I attached this thing to create an impromptu emergency power circuit to our living room. It provided enough juice to power up the router and recharge all our depleted laptops and phones. Instead of candles, we even had lights. I was somewhat apprehensive about some of the reviews here but I think you really have to be realistic. Consider that drawing just 120W - that used to be one incandescent bulb before we switched to LED lighting - at 12V equates to 10A of current. That is huge. Consider that a domestic fuse will typically trip at 13A. Pulling the rated 500W draws a staggering 40A from your battery. I would not even trust the supplied jump leads not to melt. Your mileage with capacitive loads will vary. Best to switch everything off, connect, and then boot up slowly one at a time, keeping an eye on the display. Regarding that display - the manual is not very good and I misunderstood the display at first. The important stuff - the live load (in W) - is not actually shown in bold print. That's just the voltage (who really cares?). The loading is shown as a % of 1000W by the side. This is really the number the display should show. Oh, a couple of mains adapters were decidedly unhappy, making unhealthy noises. That is a function of the (rudimentary) sine-wave approximation. Some consumers will simply not work.

I am so pleased with this. Didn't think it would do what I wanted it for but was so happy it did. I have a mobility scooter in the back of my car on a hoist. I wanted to be able to charge it up while I was on the road. Works out fine for charging on the go but does take time so ok for top up but would not do for a full charge from empty. Very pleased with purchase.

works for our needs to charge a power chair in the car while out and about. 500 watt model. the display is really handy to read though the input volts read 0.5 volt higher than the actual but for the the price its a really good deal. also you can keep an eye on the wattage being used very easily. well impressed.

Excellent sturdy well made

Everything works as expected. Many reviewers seem to be trying to use it beyond its 500W limit so obviously they have problems of their own making. If you use it sensibly, it just works.

I first try to use this with a 500w device directly from the dash 12v socket and it blew the 20 amp fuse. It is worth noting if you want the full 500w you’ll need to check both the battery of your vehicle and at least a 30amp fuse associated with the 12v socket. A typical 12v socket with a standard vehicle battery and 20amp fuse will give a max output of around 250 watts…. But the inverter is capable of 500w with the correct setup
