Amazing fix for painted warped paneling on old home.
I rarely LOVE products like this, but wow!!! I just used the whole roll to fix what I thought was unfixable. Rather than replace walls for big bucks, I just painted over warped, cracked & badly aged paneling from the early โ70s. I thought it would give a brightness to the rooms, which it did, but it also highlighted every bubble, crack, seam, warp, etc. with the shadows now visible against the white. This stress-crack tape is very close to the eggshell white paint I used, & I may not even have to paint over it (will know better in the light of day). I'm buying another roll immediately for a couple more touch-ups & to keep it on hand for the future.Oh - & it works great on the textured ceiling where there were cracks, & other issues including watermarks from past roof issues. If you have cracks, warpage, uneven seams, bubbles - BUY THIS. (No I was not coerced to write this - just love it enough to want the price to go down - the more who buy it, the better!)I would include pics, but I have no before pictures to show the dramatic difference. My only pic here shows two seams near each other, & it's obvious which is not yet taped with the StepSaver tape. The fixed crack was much more severe than the unfixed one, but it's completely smooth & ready for paint now.BTW - NO TOOLS NEEDED. You can just tear it with your fingers like duct tape (easier) & blend it into the surface on the edges with your fingernails. No need for measuring or using scissors or razor knife. Easy peazy.

Works well but not perfect
This is some super strong tape, great adhesive, and is very thin (about 0.08mm or about 30-35 layers per 1/8th inch). If it's in an area without much light or straight-on light then I don't think you need to spackle the edges. But, if light comes from the side (try a flash light) then you will see the edges and it's recommended that you put a thin coating of spackle on the edges. This is not going to cover big cracks and seems best for thin cracks that are not too deep. Also, if the drywall or plaster is not even then don't expect the tape to cover it.A couple hints when using. To get the backing off, I put a small piece of Scotch tape on the backing and then peel off the top layer. This helped a lot as it is not easy getting the layers separated. Also, don't pull the top layer completely off the bottom layer too fast as the tape will roll up and stick to itself. In general, I'm happy with the results but this is expensive compared to taping; however, it's a lot less labor and with decent results.

Minor crack repair
This product was super easy to use. Worked well on a minor drywall crack.

Good results.
I have tried to fix this crack that ran the length of the ceiling in our bedroom several times. I tried the traditional scratch out and spackle repair, that spray on stuff but the crack always came back. I admit I was skeptical about this tape product but I am pleased and impressed with the immediate results. You can make out the tape under the fresh coat of paint in the after photo but you really do not notice it unless you stare directly right up at it. You always noticed the crack however. It went on relatively easily. I recommend having a utility knife at hand to help with separating the tape backing. I don't know if I was really necessary but i used a wallpaper seam roller to make sure the tape was well adhered to the ceiling. I did spackle the edges. I am not the best spackler so that's probably why the tape is a bit noticeable. I have high hopes that it holds up well.

Easy to Use But Didn't Hid Crack
I used over stress crack at top corner of door frame. Easy to cut and apply and looked good initially. I skim coated over it and feathered out at edges with joint compound. It still looked good at that point. Once compound dried, I lightly sanded. After sanding, I could easily see where the original crack was. I applied another coat of compound, let it dry and sanded again. The crack still showed through. I repeated the process one more time but the crack still showed through. I gave up on it and removed the tape and dried compound. I then repaired the crack by cutting it out, applying a regular mess drywall tape and then applying joint compound over that in several thin coats. I then primed and repainted. I can not see the crack at all. Definitely too expensive not to work.

Worked great
Super sticky and worked great but wish there was a wider width for what I needed it to do.

Effective and easy.
I fixed a very large crack in my ceiling where the drywall sheets separated. I covered it with spray texture afterwards. The fix isn't 100% invisible but it has been one month and it is holding up perfectly. Easy to use and work with.

so far so good
so far so good..... it can't be any worst than some of the crap on the market. The one thing I did like is the fact that it is self adhesive and you can work the tape into the crack. I haven't used any drywall compound on it as of yet, however I will before I paint over it. The tape blends into a white ceiling pretty good can barely see the tape.

Didnt Work for what I Needed
I bought this tape hoping that I could apply it to the corners of my walls to give it a sharper look as there's been quite a bit of paint buildup over the years and they're very bumpy. This tape is so thin (it's designed that way to blend into the wall) so it just took on the shape of the bumpy wall behind it, rather than actually creating a firm corner crease. I just wish there were options to buy smaller rolls because I spent quite a bit of money on this and now have no use for it.
