The Jolly Phonics Pupil Books cover all the five skills for reading and writing. Children are able to work through each book and complete a wide variety of engaging activities, which develop key literacy skills. The teacher is able to support and guide the children through the books with the Jolly Phonics Teacher’s Book. These books can be given to each child in the class and provide daily lessons to be completed. Jolly Phonics Pupil Book 1 – covers all the 42 letter sounds, with the Jolly Phonics action, letter formation, listening for letter sounds in words, blending activities and the first set of tricky words. Review: A BLACK AND WHITE (synthetic) phonics exercise book - A good resource to accompany other Jolly Phonics material, although it is perfectly fine as an independent exercise book (or rather booklet) for a child learning (synthetic) phonics. It is suitable to be used at school or at home - there is a guide for parents and students for action to be used with each sound for multi-sensory learning what makes this purchase to stand out is the price - you hardly could ask for more. 47 pages Covers the alphabet and some digraphs Black and white, so child can colour in the pictures Digraphs in joint writing from the beginning to show they make only one sound Reading words with dots underneath to show how many sounds the word has. A dot is in the middle of a digraph. A letter per page, four phonic words to read per letter - only letters that have already been learned are used. Some most common "tricky words" included. Tricky words are non-phonetic words or ones that the child has not yet been introduced the spelling rules. Note: This book focuses on the 42 SOUNDS of English language (You can learn them in Jollylearning.net or from many YouTube videos) but not their common alternative spelling - these are covered in book 2. The letters are not alphabetical order but as they are now taught in most schools. Review: Useful resource - Purchased for use in my Reception classroom. We have lots of Jolly Phincs resources and follow the Jolly Phonics scheme. A good accompanying resource with useful additional worksheets to confirm understanding and enhance learning.

would recommend
I would definitely recommend this workbook to anybody whose child is at or about to start school. This book has really helped my daughter to learn to write her letters.
