Combat Applications of the Tactical Tomahawk

I just got this book the other day. I was very pleased with the layout and the scholarship. The price is exceptionally reasonable. If tomahawk fighting is your fancy and it should be. I would well recommend purchasing this book. My current project is to blend capoeira training with tomahawk and Kali. I think this purchase will serve me well months and years to come.

I bought this book to learn more about the tomahawk in close quarters combat. At the time of my purchase (2015), there were only 3 written texts on tomahawk fighting. A free Cold Steel article ([...]), and McLemore's "The Fighting Tomahawk" Volume I and II. I read all of those before I got this book. McLemore and Cold Steel cover a lot of the same stuff, plus McLemore puts in a LOT of filler. I really didn't learn much and was looking for more.Fortunately I found this book. Bradak has put together a very, very dense, insightful text. I learned so much on just about every page. I really enjoyed it. It's a deep dive to unlock the great potential of the spike tomahawk. You can tell that Bradak has really put a lot of thought and talent into this. Clever, deadly material that is well written.There are dozens and dozens of texts on knife fighting. It's kind of amazing that as of this review, there are only three books you can buy on tomahawk fighting. Two of them are McLemore's (and Volume II is mostly retread of Volume I). One is Bradak's. Bradak's text is excellent. If you are seriously considering using a tomahawk as a weapon, read this book.

The author states that this is a book about tactical tomahawk fighting, and for other moves should look to other books. I like that. Far too many guides use self-defense filler that doesn't focus on the subject at hand. This is an excellent lesson book.

I second the other reviews. This is THE best source for studying the tomahawks use as a weapon. Best price, best content, hands down. This book is deep. Lots of absolutely vicious material. A few of my friends and family have cringed just flipping through it. Definitely worth owning, whether you're a martial artist, or just interested in the subject matter.

Dense, to the point, and solid! The book has some unique material in it and should supplement just about any background a reader may have.

I haven't purchased this yet, at first I wanted to, but this is priced at $3000+ ??! This must be a mistake, and hope other verified purchasers did not have to pay that much for this book!
