Just read it
I laughed my butt off reading this book. It's certainly not on par with 'To Kill A Mockingbird' but it wasn't supposed to be. The pace is frenetic, the story hops around a lot, you'll be exhausted just from reading it. Several people have complained that the book and/or Jeremy Spencer is too scatterbrained or it's poorly written or doesn't really address life in Five Finger Death Punch. By his own admission, Spencer IS scatterbrained. The story is all over the place, he admits it. FFDP's early history is covered at the same wild pace as the rest of the book. Give it a read, just don't do it somewhere you can't laugh out loud.

Trash
I really wanted to enjoy this book. I love reading music books. This one however is a complete bore. First off it reads like a grammar school kid wrote it. Secondly he skips timelines every other chapter so there's no continuity. And lastly if all you want to hear is him brag about how great a drummer he is, and he's not, and have every chapter be about I just drank constantly did as much cocaine as humanly possible and slept with as many women as I could then have at it. But seriously that last sentence is literally every chapter in the book. There is nothing of substance in here. Written purely to cash in and stroke his ego.

A raw honesty and twistedly funny . . .
I finished Death Punch'd in less than twenty-four hours. That ought to tell you something right there. I thought it was grittily honest with a twisted humor that rounded it out well. I quite liked the format of alternating timelines and having it come full circle. I appreciated the honesty and lack of bull. It felt like Jeremy was honest with himself and thusly me as the reader. And that takes guts. It was written as though you're on a road trip with Jeremy, and he's having a conversation with you about his journey in life thus far. It also made me feel, some emotions more jubilant than others, obviously. The red tail hawk mentions really resonated with me as dragonflies are my "thing." Funnily enough while drafting this review, a huge dragonfly flew straight at the window and then floated away. All in all, I highly recommend this emotional and raw memoir.

Brutally honest with a splash of humor
As the saying goes " life gives us only what we can handle" I guess this makes Jeremy Spencer a bad a$$. He is brutally honest about his past, decisions he has made and his struggles with the demons of addiction. No one said the path we choose was easy but in the end it takes the good combined with the bad to make us who we are. My mom always says " we all know when we are born right down to the minute, but no one knows when are time will be up". That's exactly what came to mind as I read the prologue. Thank you Jeremy for sharing such personal details about yourself. \m/

Brutally Rocked!!!
I loved this book! Jeremy was BRUTALLY honest about his addictions and life which really did not depict him in a positive light. I liked how he would flashback to his youth in between talking about the present I felt like it explained and linked a lot of his self destruction. Death Punch'd projected the hard work and heartbreak of struggling to make a dream come true while showing sometimes achieving a dream is not always what you expect it to be. While in much of the book Jeremy would talk about the selfish behavior he inflicted affecting the people he loved I still felt like he came away showing that he loves big, but is just one of those people that doesn't know how to process and self destructs because of it. As a person with a lot of addicts/alcoholics in my family this book made me connect to the feelings of both the family of the addict and the actual addicts despair of not being able to help himself. I really did enjoy this look into Jeremy's life as well as the blips about Five Finger, since they are by far my favorite band! Also, have to say the cover is PERFECT!

What an awesome read.
I’m a huge fan of 5fdp and this book not only gave me insight into the band but Jeremy himself. I find his humor hilarious. Some of the descriptions were a bit graphic and gross but definitely needed to be in the book to make it a little more interesting.

I learned a lot from him.
Not many people can entertain and scare me like he has. Because he lived the chaos and mayhem. This is a really great read. Jeremy is a fantastic story teller and pulls no punches. Pun intended. Just a great book that makes me feel like I was beside him for all those years. I highly recommend this book. P.S. This is not for kids!

Death Punch'd
It's so rare I'm able to get into a book. The first time I sat down with this I read 7 chapters straight. I'm literally laughing out loud at least once a chapter. It's not only hilarious but brutally honest highly recommend.
