What can I say? Rocks!
While I would have preferred the sides to be open and gun barrels showing, for ten bucks this really is a nice little piece. I'm not sure if I have an upgraded version or what... but I noticed no problems with the legs as reported in other reviews (maybe they had an earlier release). On mine the legs are fairly solid and not made of cheap vinyl as reported elsewhere (although I don't doubt other reports. Maybe the manufacturer listened and fixed the problem). The LED lights up nicely. My only complaint is that the volume of the voice module is very low; you have to be close to hear it (thus the 4 stars rather than 5). But it's definitely a collector piece for Portal fans who can't afford or warrant the $50 USB version. For the price... nice little item. He's proudly standing on my computer speaker, ready to defend my household from... hey wait. In the game weren't these things DANGEROUS?!!!

Lighted Turret
First off, I love the box it came it, it looks like the boxes the turrets come in, from the Portal game itself. I paid $9.00 for this turret, I see some people getting for $20.00 or more. I say this because for $9.00, I got my money's worth. The plastic its legs are made out of is springy, but not terribly flimsy. I had no problem getting it to stand on the shelf where I put it. Sometimes I move it around but I never have any trouble getting it to stand up.There is a switch on the back of it to turn it on or off. It says a few phrases from the games, plus one I'm not sure I have heard in the game. It's lighted eye is quite bright and pulses when it talks. For the price I paid I am very happy with this toy and I would recommend it to any Portal or Portal 2 fan who is looking for a little desk buddy.

I really enjoy this!
So the main issue with a lot of people seems that it is very flimsy. When I got my product (which came to my house less than 24 hours after ordering without special delivery!) I found it to be mainly durable. Of course the legs are very skinny so It might have some trouble but for me it never once fell over, but again, that's just me. I feel that if you are a fan of portal, you should get this. Yes, it is expensive, but you won't find it anywhere else. It's really meant to be a cool little decoration maybe by your computer, which is what I did, don't recommend using it as a toy.PROS- great product for any portal fan- the LED light works great- the sounds are spot on and sound very clearCONS- a little on the expensive side- can be a little flimsy at times

Price vs. product
This collectable is great and does exactly as advertised... HOWEVER, if you plan to take this lovely little guy out of his box, you'll find, almost right away, that he's not even as durable as the ones in the games. Simply, the legs are weak. They're constructed of a soft plastic and if they were tweaked in any way inside their original packaging, they'll have problems standing up straight. While using a more rigid plastic would have probably cost more and made it more prone to possible breakage (of the legs), it would have made this little novelty less annoying to display and less likely to fall over (from any space you choose to display it). Sometimes, you really have to work to get them to stand correctly, even with "tacky tape" or whatnot, due to the soft-plastic-legs construction.Collectors who don't open their boxes will get all they desire. For those who display: Approach with caution and expect many side-ways leaning turrets (if you get more than one like I did) to frustrate your decorating sensibilities.

Quiet sound effects no sound adjust available
My husband I loved it but the sound on it is very quiet.

The LED and the turret itself is great, but the voice/sound is broken
The LED and the turret itself is great, but the voice/sound is broken. I have to hit it or shake it for it to say full sentences from the game and it's a bit annoying.

Should have cost less
The reason I'm giving this 3 stars and not less is because my ultimate goal of making my son happy was achieved. It is not worth $25. It is made of cheap plastic and is almost impossible to stand up. The best part is the sound bites. If I paid $10, I would give a higher rating. My main issue is that the price is too high for the quality.

Cake toppers
So these are going to be the nerdy cake toppers for my wedding. We are going to put a little veil on one and a little bow tie on the other. BOOM. Mind blown. I know.I love them. The legs aren't the best, like other reviewers have said. However, they will be sitting in a cake (which is not a lie) so I am not terribly concerned.
