Perfect for fixing stripped screw holes in a door hinge
What a great product! An interior door in our house had been sagging for a while, and it just took a seven year old boy to completely ruin the top hinge by trying with too much enthusiasm to shut it. Not relishing the prospect of taking the door off to drill out the holes and so forth, I found this product and thought it was worth a go. It worked perfectly - the door hangs like new. Not hard to use, but a little fiddly - I found it best to cut a couple of thin strips to the length of the screw thread and insert them into the hole, before putting the screw in between them. The screw makes a thread in the metal strips, and the teeth of the metal strips (these should be facing outward) bite into the wood. Remarkably effective, and a very cheap, quick way to fix a sagging door!

Fairly easy to use
I used this in combination with Swel-Lock to fix an old rocking chair. It took me about 30 minutes to repair 4 joints that were pulled out or were pulling out because of extreme wear. It's not a perfect fix; but I think it was easy and should hold for quite some time. I went back and checked the joints after two months of use and it was still nice and tight, the metal and swelled wood making a tight joint.I recommend a soft hammer to tap the joints in, because pushing isn't really enough. But it did grip after a good bit of wood was eroded out of the joint. I do think you need to do more than just use this, though. Dry wood might not be good enough for some jobs; but if you use something to swell the wood in place, I think you can do a fair repair without replacing the joint or using screws.

REALLY WORKS, AND SO EASY
I knew this product existed. There had to be something more stable, and less messy, than glue. With some persistence, finally found it. The absolute best remedy to keep loose dowels in place. Don't just order one package. Order many; for future projects. You will be glad you did. Found out my 85 year old mother ordered this product from a catalog. She also found easy to use, and a perfect fix. Don't know why someone reviewed it hard to use.

This is a very simple but brilliant product.
This is a very simple but brilliant product. I have a set of windows which can be flipped over for cleaning, and the rod that does the turning at the bottom had worked it's way out of the window, destroying the screw hole in the process. As it isn't wood, I wasn't sure what I could use to fill the hole and re-screw it, and then I ran across this. Put it across the whole in an x pattern, placed the screw in, and it's held up ever since.

simple enough product; but...
I found it hard to put the leg back into the hole after putting this product on. you're definitely going to need a rubber mallet/hammer (which I bought at a garage sale for one dollar--one of the best buys I ever made).

Great product
I have been seeing this type product in catalogues, but felt it wasn't worth the cost. My chairs continued to come unglued. Finally I went to Amazon and found this little kit. well worth the price. I am 75 yrs old and female, but I put one together and it stayed fixed!I'm loving it, and now I'm going to fix the others.Dang! I just checked, and it is coming apart. Go figure.
