Great Product if you read the instructions first !.
I spotted this product package of two Blackberry batteries and a plug in wall charger for about 19.00 ( less freight). Since my field issued original battery was on the decline, I ordered it and lo and behold, it showed up a few days later. The batteries already were charged but I decided to touch them up before installation. The charger was a universal plug in the wall charger with two variable spacing pins. First try, I installed the battery incorrectly. Then a light came on in my head and I decided to read the charger instructions. After that, everything worked beautifully. The unit and the battery I installed have restored my talking capacity and I can go all day without the dreaded black screen of battery death. Being male and an electrical engineer made my think I could just plug it in and it would work. But old age and treachery will only get you so far. You just need to read the charger instructions before using it! I am extremely pleased that a low cost solution to my battery problem has been found. No regrets. The charger light is mutilcolored and puts on a display until the battery is charged. A very nice cost effective package.

The two batteries work well, but the charger is just okay. Kind of annoying & confusing at times
I've had a Blackberry Bold 9780 for the past few years, and I wanted to find a slimmer, 'travel' size battery charger as an alternative to another third-party charger that I've owned for a while. (The third-party charger that I own still works, but I thought it was a bit bulky for me to be lugging around while traveling, since it works as a table cradle and charges both the phone and a separate battery. I just needed a slim battery charger this time.)So, I found this while searching through Amazon, and after reading the reviews, I thought it would probably be a good buy since it comes with two extra batteries AND a charger. After trying it out over the past week, I've found that there are good and bad things about buying this package deal -- although for me, most of what I found to be negative about this package had to do with the charger. It's a pity, though, since that's the main reason I bought this charger in the first place. To break things down, here are my list of 'pros' and 'cons' about buying this package:PROS:(1) The two batteries that come with this pack work well. I've charged both batteries and used them, and they both work well. I'd say the work as well as the OEM Blackberry batteries that I still have.(2) The charger does charge batteries, and not just Blackberry Bold batteries. It looks like you can adjust the two pins and the 'sliding tray' to fit any battery, which would make it something of a 'universal' Blackberry battery charger, like it says in the description. (Note: I haven't tried it on any other phone batteries other than my Blackberry Bold 9780 batteries, so I can't really comment on how well it works with other types of batteries.)(3) The charger has a USB port on the side, where you can attach your phone and charge it at the same time as another battery. I'd comment more on this feature, but I haven't tried it yet, since I already have a small OEM travel charger that I use for my phone. Once I try this USB port, I'll update my review to accurately reflect my opinion about it.(4) The charger does have a flashing light to alert you when the battery is still charging. It will stop flashing and become a low red light when the battery is fully charged. That being said, there is a downside to this flashing light and the way this thing charges (see my entire 'con' list below)...CONS:(1) The battery charger has a VERY bright apple-shaped light that continues to flash with rainbow colors while your battery is charging. As I mentioned above, it will stop when the battery is done charging. I'll admit -- I think the rainbow colors are pretty, but the reason I list this as a 'con' is due to the idea that this bright flashing light could be annoying if you're charging a battery in a dark room while you're trying to sleep. If you're in the room while this charger is working, you'll probably have to cover this light with something (e.g., tape). Or you can always plug this charger in the bathroom or a separate room, where it'll be out of sight.(2) It's a little tricky to simultaneously set up the pins and pull out the tray as you set up your battery to charge. I didn't have too much of a problem doing it, but I can imagine someone having trouble trying to set the pins correctly on the battery while trying to fit it on the sliding tray that stretches out. As I was pulling out the tray with my battery in it, I found myself a little worried that I might damage the pins...which leads me to think that...(3) The charging pins appear to be a little flimsy. Just from appearances, I'm afraid that if I push the battery against them in any way that's not correct, I might accidentally damage them. So, I just try my best to be careful while putting them in the correct position for my battery.(4) The prongs on the back of the charger can easily retract if you don't plug it correctly into the socket. For example, if you fail to align the plug with the socket holes and hit the wall instead, the prongs might push back into the charger and then you'll have to pull it out again. It wasn't a huge issue for me personally, but I did find it annoying at times when I was trying to find the socket and the prongs kept going back in when I didn't get it in during the first try.(5) The charger can take long to charge, especially if your old battery is completely drained or if you're charging a new, uncharged battery for the first time. It took about 3 to 4 hours for me to charge one of the new batteries that came with this pack.(6) And last but certainly not least -- sometimes, I don't think the charger is 100% accurate in indicating whether or not a battery is fully charged or not. I say this because I've taken batteries that were COMPLETELY charged on my old charger and inserted them into this product to test whether or not the apple light would start to flash. To my surprise, the light did flash, which meant that I had to charge the battery again! But it shouldn't be doing that at all since the battery is 100% fully charged, according to my old charger and as indicated on my Blackberry phone. So far, this charger gave off the flashing light with three batteries that were 100% charged -- which were the two batteries from this pack and one of my OEM batteries. These are the improvements I'd make to this charger:(a) Make it so that the charger's prongs and pins stay in place when you put them into position. It would be so much easier on the consumer if there was some kind of 'lock' mechanism that could hold the prongs and pins in place, when you need them to stay put.(b) Make the charging light less bright and flashy. It's pretty, but there's really no need for a light show when all you want to do is know when a battery is 100% charged.(c) Make the charger more accurate in how it reads overall battery life. Like I said above, if a battery is already 100% charged, then this charger's light shouldn't be telling you that it needs to be charged again.Considering everything that came with this package -- two batteries and a charger -- I don't exactly regret this purchase, but I don't think I'd buy it again. I'd try to find a better alternative, if I needed to do so.

Great Product!
I love this product. Mostly because of its inexpesiveness. It comes with 2 replacement batteries and a charger! With my original BlackBerry Battery I just used the cord plugged into the wall and relied on the BlackBerry itself to monitor the charging status, but I always had a sneaking suspicion that it was not optimized for my benefit, but rather the company. The original battery couldn't hold a charge after about one and a half years of use. When your phone dies after only 4 hours after a charge, you tend to think of "upgrade"...which definately benefits the company. One and half years.....I am not sure if that is an acceptable expected life-span for a battery or not. But since I bought these batteries and they come with a separate charger, I suspect that I will have a longer life-span for than the original battery. And I am no longer considering an upgrade.

great purchase
I purchased these batteries and charger for my Blackberry Bold 9700 and they work great! The charger is unique and works great. The batteries work as good as the original. Talk and standby times are excellent.UPDATE:I've updated my rating from a 5 star to a 4 star on these. While they were both great batteries in the short term, after just about 6 months one of the batteries died. The second has continued to work fine (slowly losing the amount of time it holds a charge - but that's normal).

Same performance as OEM
The batteries fit well and power the phone for 4-5 days (moderate telephone usage). They perform as well as the OEM batteries from Blackberry. I've used one in my Blackberry for 3 months and it has not decreased its charge capacity noticeably. The charger is a bit flimsy and aligning the contact pins is difficult, but it seems to work well and I haven't had any problems with its functionality. I recommend these batteries.

Works, decent setup with one battery always charging
It is nice that two batteries are included so you can always have one fully charged and ready to swap in.The charger itself can accommodate a lot of batteries as you can slide the contact points and the support at the bottom is spring loaded to hold different sized batteries.Only a 3-star rating because the quality seems low, the move-able contacts have a lot of play to them, and I don't anticipate them lasting long. Secondly, the multicolored flashing light (looks like a rip-off Apple logo), is extremely annoying - enough that I always have the charger in a different room.

Takes long for the first charge but definitely worth it, made a huge difference.
I bought this because I had to charge my bold twice a day. I charged the new battery in the charger it came with before swapping it with the old one. It took about 4 hours before the charger stopped blinking (it has a multi-colored light show) but after swapping it in I had a new phone. I am amazed at the transformation from just changing the battery now I can hold on to my bold a while longer.
