can you throw large items of 10-12 lbs of clay?

I Believe so....I've done 5 lbs or more and looking forward to larger pieces.

Can you use a Gifford grip with this? Also can you drill your own bat holes with it?

Yes, you can. I use my Giffin grip on it all the time. and yes you can drill bat holes just make sure you measure correctly before drilling.
