(Great Product, nice manly scent, good for a guys closet or a woman's closet who wears floral/sweet perfume when going out.)Now, onto the review!Being the idiot that I am, I thought I knew what wood smelled like. Wanted to add a nice, warm undertone to the Cedar Rose Satchels (also made by this company) and decided to get both these.Now, let's assume I never go out in nature, and the closest I've been to an actual slab of wood is inside of an Ikea store. We all know that's particle board. (Cedar Smell = Ikea in my brain.)Shocker - It's nothing like Ikea furniture.I opened the bag, and it smells like a man. If I had to sum up mankind in a single scent, it would be this. I took several sniffs and chuckled to myself. Thoughts of Rambo, 80's Arnold Scwachinegger, and Pre-Falcon attack Fabio filled my head.I'm not going to rate something badly because I'm ignorant and didn't know cedar doesn't smell like Ikea furniture. Instead, being the slightly below intelligent human being I am, added some scented oils to the bag, shook it up, and then wiggled my eyebrows.I put the rings around my hangers like a man would stick his....hand into a bag of these Cedar O Rings and place them into his shoes. It's a nice smell for a guy and would go along with the natural musk men have. Which is not Ikea furniture.

They keep the closets smelling nice, and generally they're an excellent moth preventative. It has worked extremely well for years, all except for 1 brand new green cashmere pullover which despite my taking great care with it + using this cedar chip with it , it got destroyed, but all the many other woolen items/ excellent cashmere sweaters etc. are all fine + many other wool sweaters and shawls and scarves etc.I was able to replace online the green cashmere V neck pullover, and I additionally also got a black one, that's in addition to many other wool/ cashmere cardigans and pullover and other wool items.I made a change not with the Cedar Chips but I changed locations. Instead of hanging the sweaters in a closets that didn't close securely that was the problem not the cedar chips. I transferred everything to our living room coat closet, that door closes securely, unlike 2 other closets, and we make sure the door is always closed.We've had no problems with good wool items/ cashmere etc. since moving things to the secure living room closet, and some items have several chips on them for extra security, all's been fine. I heard that it's best to change the chips every 6 months for optimal moth protection, which was our problem. I'm ordering 2 more packages right now so I'll have them early, to replace in very early May. These work great as a moth preventive,as long as they're in a securely closed closet, no sliding doors etc. but with a door that closes securely , then they'll work, a good idea to change them every 6 months, and some things you might want to use several chips , although it's not necessary, but it can helpful.

First the good news then the bad. The good is these rings smell exactly like fresh natural cedar. Now the bad news. It's not so much bad news but my expectations were high. I have a mosquitoes problem in my apartment. First I want to mention what others have said. The bag is small. The actual bag is the size of a dvd cover. The top of the bag was a tear-off and the resealable part starts at the very top of the dvd. I noticed it says it has 30 pieces when actually I received 27. The cedar ring bag brings a piece of sandpaper. The cedar rings don't have a strong scent. Many of the mosquitoes ignore the rings and fly around looking for the human scent. The only way you smell them is if you bring it up to your nose or seal it up in a container. Having rings scattered across a small room you will barely smell anything. In summary, you will love this product and if you are planning to seal the rings in a tote, box, bag, or container this it for you. If you are to leave them out in the open they will lose the cedar scent the next day.

I am pretty late on my review, but I have a pretty unique story. I ordered during a time when the product was first being sold on Amazon. Amazon dropped the ball when it came to shipping and I didn’t get my order during the normal timeframe. One day after I had just got home from work, I heard a knock at the door. In my head, I was like, “who is this?” I walk to the door and look out and it was a person with a package, that I knew and hadn’t seen for a some years, who also happened to be a friend and coincidentally the owner of Cedar Sense, himself. Lol. Man, what a happy day! I was like, “now that’s some good customer service!” I love the product and have used them to store my hunting clothes, in shoes, in my basement, and garage. Needless to say, I haven’t seen any mice and my clothes and shoes have a fresh, natural scent. I am very proud of the owner and this company and will definitely purchase again! Keep up the good work!

I've had these a couple months and they have retained a modest cedar smell, plenty to accomplish their purpose. However I have noticed they have a coating of something on them, it looks like very fine crystals like a fine salt. When I rub them it becomes a white dust. I've worked with cedar wood before, this is not something I've seen naturally come out of cedar before. It looks very much like a substance that is sprayed or painted on the wood then dries in a thin layer. I wish they said what this was in their descriptions of the product, I wonder if it's a scent to increase the smell.

I am so happy with this product, i love it. I live in a small space and these rings dont take up any space in my closet and they are very easy to use. What I like the most about these is that they smell very good, just like a perfume, and they are not toxic or nasty. I like how they provided sand paper so I can refresh the smell after 3-6 months. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and I totally recommend it.
