Kitchen knives, shears, scissors, outdoor knives and steel tools don't do you any good if they're not sharp, but that doesn't mean you have to pay a professional to keep all of your cutting tools working at their best. The London Kitchen Double Sided Knife Sharpener Whetstone lets you safely get the job done like a pro right at home! The London Kitchen Double Sided Knife Sharpener Whetstone is unique because it acts as two different sharpening tools. Use the 1000 coarse grade to remove nicks and rough spots and prepare your blades for sharpening. Turn the stone and use the 3000 fine grade side to get the blade razor sharp in no time. The color-coded sides make it easy to tell the grades apart, and the non-slip silicone bottom prevents sliding to ensure your safety. See how easy it can be to keep every cutting tool in perfect condition! Order the London Kitchen Double Sided Knife Sharpener Whetstone today. How to use the whetstone: - Soak the whetstone in water for 5 to 10 minutes. When no more air bubbles appear, remove the stone. Apply water whilst sharpening. The water combines with small particles released from the stone to form an abrasive substance, which allows the sharpening to take place. - Use the coarse grit side first. Move the blade back and forth (away from and towards the body) at an angle of 10 - 15° across the entire stone, applying light pressure. Always maintain the same angle for best results. Turn the knife over and complete on the other side. - Use the fine grit side, starting at the tip of the blade. Pull the blade over the stone through to the middle and down to the base of the blade. Continue until a fine edge develops. - To finish, pull the blade twice at an angle to the cutting edge to remove the last burrs. Your knife should now be really sharp. - Rinse off the whetstone and clean off the grinding residue. Rinse the knives carefully in hot water.
