Best traveling power converter out there!
---------------2018, 2 year update: I've now been using this for about 2 years. In addition to the previous Italy trip, I've used it overseas in China, Iceland, and Grand Cayman as well as numerous times locally. I had a little trouble in China finding an appropriately powered outlet to run a curling iron but did manage it. Otherwise this thing has kept chugging along with no issues. Phones, camera batteries, AA chargers, even hooked up a pico projector & raspberry pi game system and it handled everything!-----------------Original review:I purchased this bad boy specifically for my trip to Italy in late September. Between my traveling partner and me, we had quite a few different devices that needed power at some point and this worked flawlesslyI used the standard power input twice and stuck mainly to the 2amp USB ports while my traveling partner used a curling iron plus what I had. At no time did it disappoint. I also used this in the airport when people were hogging the power switches (plug this and the US adapter in and a few of you can charge at the same time) and the other person (plus a couple of others) were grateful for the extra spots.Yes, there is a fan onboard and it does make noise (less that a standard oscillating fan) but it's a small price to pay for consistent, reliable, and a variety of power options. I tried some Teflon wax lubricant and that helped for a day or two but wore off. Still, no big deal.I've tried a few different power adapters and they usually switch off/on as they run into spotty electricity but this kept up. Coincidentally a couple we met up with had the same thing (different brand but clearly the same unit) and loved theirs.

Flawless Performance; Tips for Testing Before Your Trip
We ordered this product in advance of a 2.5 week to New Zealand - a trip where we would be traveling all over both the North and South Islands. The product performed flawlessly. With 3 plug outlets and 4 USB ports, we had plenty of capacity at all times. Of importance when traveling internationally is the size of the product. The box for the product (with cords and converter pieces to deal with the demands of different countries) is only 6 x 3 x1.6 inches. The product is solidly built and the cord that goes in the wall is heavy duty. The ease of use is first rate.I saw another review, giving one star, of a purchaser (D. Rees) who said "It isn't easy to test this before such a trip....who has a foreign outlet here in the US?...not I." That purchaser reported the unit did not work at all. We had no trouble testing the unit before we left (we also traveled to New Zealand) as you do not need a foreign outlet to test it. You plug it into the wall here in the U.S. and turn it on. You then plug in a device to see if the charging function works. The only part of the product you cannot test in the U.S. is the single piece that plugs into the wall in the foreign country and that piece is a pass-through, i.e., it has no moving parts and, even if that part failed when you got to your foreign destination, you could replace it easily.Another one star reviewer complained that the "the cooling fan came on immediately." The fan operates continuously as part of its standard operation and is not a sign that something is wrong. That reviewer then reported something that was, in fact, a problem, i.e., "a loud pop came from the converter and sparks and smoke exited the converter." That reviewer (Mark) was careful to share exactly what was plugged into the converter so it was clear that he had not exceeded the converter's stated capacity.Perhaps the best guideline is to, one, buy the product in plenty of time to allow time to test the product well as we did, including load testing it with the devices you intend to us on the trip. That should reveal any defects with the product in a timely fashion, thereby allowing you time to resolve the problem with BESTEK.

Your Travel Companion - BESTEK Universal Travel Adapter
The BESTEK Universal Travel Adapter has transformed the way I travel, earning a well-deserved 4-star rating. This versatile adapter and voltage converter have proved to be an invaluable companion, making my international trips hassle-free and convenient. The range of plug options, including UK/AU/US/EU, covers practically any destination, ensuring that I'm always prepared to charge my devices. The 4-port USB charging is a game-changer, allowing me to power multiple devices simultaneously without needing extra adapters. The voltage converter feature from 220V to 110V is a godsend for using my electronic devices without worrying about compatibility or damaging them. This adaptability has saved me from having to purchase new chargers or devices for each destination. The white design is sleek and visually pleasing, while the build quality feels solid and durable. I've used it extensively on my trips, and it has held up well under different conditions. I do agree with other reviews that there are some louder sounds that come from this when turned on, its nothing more than the sound of a whirring fan to me so I was ok with it.In summary, the BESTEK Universal Travel Adapter is an essential tool for anyone who frequently travels internationally. Its versatility, combined with the voltage converter and USB charging capabilities, make it a must-have accessory. If you're seeking a reliable and convenient solution to power your devices across the globe, this adapter has you covered. It's undoubtedly my go-to travel companion, and I can't recommend it enough to fellow travelers. I have purchased it (or other versions of it) 4 times now.

Going to South Asia...we'll see how it does.
So far so good....Just got this and I am still burning it in (that means I'm running it for a period of time *before* going around the world in my house back in the U.S. to make sure it doesn't fail. Most electrical products will fail within the first week or so if they are going to fail at all before the MTBF -- think of it as turning on an engine and letting it run for a while to make sure nothing goes wrong, which eliminates about 95% chance of it going wrong later on as long as it's used properly). I'm going to use it for about 2 weeks with everything from a phone, a tablet, to a laptop and electric razor (for charging only, not using). We'll see how it does. Check back and I'll have some updated reviews after my trip. The fan noise seems OK, but it sounds like there may also be an inverter inside which makes the most noise---again in a hotel room with A/C on,or the A/C fan at the very least (going to tropical location), I don't see this as being a problem. Either way it's white noise for the most part so I don't think it will cause sleep issues.Pros:1. 3 110V Outlets, Converts, not just an adapter.2. Outlet Adapter for just about anywhere in the world3. 4 USB ports, 2 of them with the enough amps (2.4) most tablets and portable devices will need for normal charging speed.4. Very nice! ... Comes with a travel pouch and long cord for desk placement where most people probably charge things while on travel.5. This is probably one of the most important pros for me:Built in protection circuit with LED indications as to what is going wrong and what to do based on color of LED (i.e. overloaded circuit allowing for removal of devices and switching the power off and then back on to correct the problem...you don't see that often in some of these travel products). If the LED is green, all is good to go!Con (sort of):1. This is important if you want to use your "Fast Charging" adapter for your phone because the USB charger will charge it, but not by "Fast Charging". I own a Samsung phone, so you're charging experience may vary. Again, very useful to have the option to plug in my phone charging block into one of the 3 110 outlets instead of using the USB ports. Otherwise USB ports charge just fine.Stay tuned...will update after Nov 1st.

10 years and still working
I purchased this in 2016. 10 years later, still works flawlessly. Only downside is the fan... but consider it white noise ;)I've used on many trips overseas and domestic as a power adapter. Also on cruises when the room Typically has only one outlet. It is always in my luggage so it's ready for the next trip.

You Don't Need This!!! Really!!
Seriously, you don't need this for smart phones, camera or computers. Here is why. Look at the pictures. If you got a smart phone bought within the last 10 years, the electronics are made for all international voltage. Why? because they are all made in China in one big factory and sold to the entire world. We don't make things in the US anymore. Unless you have an obscure piece of electronic more than 10 years old, this is useless. You can always check the small writings on the electronic.Look for 110V-240V. That means it operates on both 110 volt in US and 220 or 240 volts international. Here is the exception:Appliance like hairdryer or toaster do need the right voltage. The cheaper ones of these appliance are not computer controlled, so they need the right voltage. Nicer ones of these will be dual voltage. But here is the problem, this low wattage converter will never run a hairdryer. This is only 200 watts max. Hairdryer is 600 watts and above. So don't even think about using this for a toaster or hairdryer. In conclusion, this thing is not needed for any modern electronics. Things that do need it, this is too small to handle. I ask you, what good is this thing? Is a waste of luggage space. Is sad, but this is a "feel good" device to make you think you are doing something when is a waste of time, money and space. One of our family member bought this by accident. We didn't even bother to take it on our trip. We just bought along the square adapters to change the shape of the outlet plug. The fan is always on, and very noisy. This is cheap. Nicer electronics will turn off the fan unless is needed. For charging smart phones at 2A, you don't need that fan. I ended up sticking a popsicle stick into the fan to stop it from turning. Now is quiet, and we just use the 4 USB ports to charge phones at home.

Great for international travel
Great adaptor. I really like how it is both a voltage converter for international currents but also a powerstrip so we only needed 1 to charge mulitple devices every night. Packs well in its own pouch keeping all parts together and has usb ports so I could reduce the number of plug blocks I brought so there was less chance of losing an important piece.

Handy Travel Adapter for International Trips
This BESTEK travel adapter worked really well and made traveling much easier. It comes with all the major plug types, which made it very convenient to use across different countries in both Asia and Europe. I liked not having to carry multiple adapters or worry about whether my devices would fit, and being able to charge multiple devices at once was really handy. Having everything stored securely in one small box made it easy to store in a backpack. It was simple to use, worked as expected, and felt like a very practical travel essential to keep in my bag. If you travel often or visit multiple countries on one trip, this is a really useful adapter to have.

High Noise emissions
The products generates a lot of hiss noise in the background just like a transformer. Whenever I record a video there is a huge background hiss noise from this piece of equipment

Need to convert 220 to 110.
Pretty small size for what it is, relatively quiet and did exactly what it was intended to do. Instructions are pretty clear about it's limits ( which is to be expected) so be aware you can't run high demand items with it. I would recommend this for anyone who needs to convert 220v to 110v.
