Open water diver
This has everything I needed to complete my open water diver kit! The compass clips easily to the board or to the bcd which makes it a nice perk. Being new to diving, I wanted a way to communicate just in case I forgot my hand signals. This more than fit the bill!

Practical Dive Slae
I bought this dive slate with the compass mounted on it specifically for mapping dive sites and it worked perfectly for that. I didn't go deeper than 50 feet so I can't speak to how well the compass works in deeper water. But in the environment I recently employed the slate and compass it worked as advertised and met my requirements.

Not great position for the lanyard
When I got the slate, I drilled a hole in the base of it to attach to my BC so that I could hold the slate in front of me. I’m right handed so in order to write on the slate with the lanyard in the current position, I would have to reach over the compass. If your left handed and don’t mind the compass at the ‘bottom’ of the slate. Great choice, I prefer mine at the top.

Slate/compass
All and all a good product, only issue was that the screws holding the compass to the slate were loose and almost lost them on the dive boat.

DO NOT BUY for SCUBA diving!!! USELESS
This slate is a joke!!!. The "compass" barely works on super leveled surface. If you till it just few degrees the needle turns with gravity!!! you till it more it turns more! absolute piece of junk!!. I don't know who wrote the positive reviews but obviously they never used it!!! DO NOT BUY !!!! ( unless you need to know which way the gravity is).

I love this slate with compass a lot
The media could not be loaded. I love this slate with compass a lot. It’s convenient while working on mapping. Quality is better than expected.

Good for the slate, Compass could be better.
Good sized slate, easy to read compass which will keep you facing the same direction. However, the compass is very cheap and can be having a good day or a bad day. Bought it mostly for the slate, but the compass is a nice addition. Can use it creating grids or very minor search/recovery to base to heading/90* turns off of. If you need something to be accurate at all times this isn’t the product for you.

Does the job
I liked the idea of a writing slate with an integrated compass so I could jot down headings and times when navigating. This is one of the very few available in the U.K. but fortunately it does the job. I have had no problems with the compass and I find that the slate helps hold it in the right position and far enough from the body for a good reading without interference. The slate and attachements are standard and fine but I found the pencil fragile and very difficult to erase. Thankfully, this is easy enough to correct.

Really nice one
Very convenient for DM training, mapping and also basic compass orientation. Writting underwater is sometimes fun too. Everyone was liking it at my diveshop!

Good quality but need to attach it to a bungee cord
Good slate, great quality and compass on the slate is very handy and compass works brilliantly underwater - used for dive master navigation. One issue is when clipped onto BCD the slate is upside down and cord is not long enough to twist around so I have attached it to a Scuba Pro bungee cord and it works brilliantly - much prefer to a wrist compass (if needs be you could remove the screws and make a makeshift wrist strap). Having a slate/compass combo makes navigation with headings/bearings easier
