Tool Maker Water Line Sealant
I'm a tool maker and I used this product to plug cracked steel that were causing water lines to leak. It worked amazing!! Just for reference, I used 1 ounce in a 2 channel insert that was 10"x7"x3" and 5ml into some single channel, baffled water lines 5" long. I used a child's plastic medicine syringe to apply the product. I then plugged and pressurized the inserts with 120psi shop air and left them overnight. One of the inserts was cracked so badly that the silicate shot out of the crack. So applied a second 5ml to it and it seemed to seal. The next day, using a rag to cover the exhaust I released pressure from the inserts, poured out the remaining sodium silicate and pressure checked them. Everyone of them sealed. They have all been in the presses running 3 shifts 5 days a week for the last 2 weeks now with not a single leak. I'm currently finishing up on replacement inserts. I'm not sure of the long term application, though I think as long as the insert is operable and within your tolerances then you would just need to reapply as needed. But for a short term fix it was amazing!

Liquid sodium silicate, pure and works great
The sodium silicate arrived very fast, was triple bagged and arrived in perfect condition. I made my first batch of casting slip with it this morning and only used a few drops. This is the real deal, pure liquid sodium silicate used to make ceramic casting slip. There is so much, this jar will most likely last a year! Thank you

i was disappointed.
based upon my assumption that PURE sodium silicate is a powder, i purchased this item and discovered it is a syrup thick liquid. THEN i read the reviews that indicate labeling this product as "pure" is a misnomer as powdered sodium silicate is factually 18% water. I purchased what i thought would be powder to retain control of how thick this liquid would be, and although i can use it for my needs, i was disappointed.

Nice container that reseals well
Nice container that reseals well. I do not use a lot of this stuff at any one sitting so resealing well is big deal to me. The Sodium silicate is clean and pure to the eye. Works for my purposes.

Three Stars
Thought I ordered "dry" sodium silicate. Will use this "wet" form & will double check the order. RDM

Another Free Energy Cell Making Project:)
Should I start writing a little book in my own words about this very interesting topic?Parents this is a great project to learn with your older children:)But research it on line before you start. It is just cool that you can get what you will need from Amazon!

this is not 100% pure, not even close
I asked to verify this was 100% pure sodium silicate. I just opened the box to use it and it is not 100% pure. In fact this is an extraordinary rip off. If this is right every other jar I ever bought was wrong. All the pure sodium silicate I ever bought was thicker than molasses. This crap is as thin as water, which means it simply wont work. I am mad as heck to know I got ripped off.
