The calls are so loud in my ear. i have turned the unit volume to min but don't see any way to adjust volume on the headset. any suggestions?

There isn't a way to adjust the volume on the headset itself. You could only adjust the volume on your phone base, or if you use your computer to work from and accept calls through a computer system you work with, you may also have a volume control in that system.

can this replace the handset on my home phone?

If you have the 4 wire modular connection as found on wired phones for the last 30 years it should work. However, if this headset alone does not have the circuitry to hang up, it may be a problem.

Does this work for the cisco 7945 ip phone?

Cisco 7945 has a list of headset that are compatible with their phones but as IT professional I found that the plantronics head sets work the best

My unit came with an inline volume control/circuit control. It doesn't show in the description or pictures. Was this supposed to come with this?

I just don't know what's was the problem. I did try it with 3 different phones at work and doesn't work.....
