Biddeford is the best!!! This is my second Biddeford blanket. I bought my first one 16 years ago and this year I noticed that one side of the blanket wasn't heating up very well. When I got the new blanket, out of curiosity I plugged in the new controls and the old blanket worked fine so it was the control that had finally given up after years of being used and abused - falling on the floor, getting stuck between the bed and a wall along with other things like my cat Barney who discovered that he could turn on the blanket by stepping and jumping on it or Feif who loves to bat things on the floor. The blanket was usually set to Thermo Nuclear Explosion (which is probably why I'd wake up with two cats on top of me on cold Winter mornings) The blanket itself was folded up, in the Spring, stepped on and cat scratched but hung in there like a trooper and was starting to look a bit raggedy from such heavy use. So I decided to get a new one.As I said, this is my second blanket and I really like that you can order new controls at a reasonable price in case of a problem.

My wife's natural state is cold so this made a fantastic Christmas Gift this past year. Ordered it prior to the holiday and opened the gift on Christmas Day. She was excited, and it worked well for the first couple of weeks. By the 13th of January roughly 19 days after she opened the blanket the first control unit burned up. It was easily recognizable as the smell of burnt plastic wafted from the end table where it sat. Today is the 20th and the second control unit quit working today. Positive things to say about this product? If you are looking for three weeks of warm comfort it is wonderful, and if you are lucky only one of the control units will burn out with a terrible smell when it breaks.

Me and my boyfriend had a Biddeford dual zone that lasted years until one of our let’s chewed the cord. Thought we would continue since their products seemed to last. Well not anymore. I bought one and after the first use my side no longer worked. I decided to get a replacement because there is always the chance of a defect. Got my replacement and guess what. It stopped working after the first use again but on my boyfriends side. We religiously use them in the north east mainly cause I need a fan on at night. Do not buy spend the extra money to get one of good value. Though generally speaking an 80 dollar heating blanket shouldn’t be cheap quality. Very disappointed.

Bought the micro plush electric heated king size blanket 12/2019 and one of the controllers went bad 10/2020.Contacted Biddeford direct customer service about their 5 year warranty. After 3 attempts and 3 weeks of getting the run around , I bought a controller on E bay.Beware. Product quality is not that good and their is NO WARRANTY BACKUP from Biddeford.

2nd Update: It started working after 2 days of not working. Still not changing my star rating since the plug wiggles loose at night and the heat seems uneven since washed.Update: it stopped working! After following the ridiculous washing instructions it doesn't work anymore! Had it less than 2 weeks.Original - I've only had this a couple of days.Pros - it's lightweight and warm.Cons - The auto shut off is 10 hours and not adjustable. There is no lock on the plug to the blanket and it's wiggled loose every night so far.

I ordered it for a Christmas gift on amazon prime 12/14 and it didn’t come in until 1/2. I just saw the recipient and when he opened it, there wasn’t a plug! Of course it’s now after the return date so I’m stuck with a worthless blanket and have to buy another gift.

I bought this same blanket over 2 years ago and it was WONDERFUL!! The plug recently started giving me issues. The new blanket I purchased is MUCH DIFFERENT. Very cheaply made, VERY THIN & LIGHT. The previous one wasn't "thick" but you can feel the difference in how cheaply made the new one is.As far as the warmth... Forget it!.. I have it at an 8 and that's just WARM. Again, the last one, at level 8 would be burning my skin.I am completely disappointed considering I thought this was a slam dunk being as though my last one was the exact same product.If you want a quality blanket that warms you up this is not it.. This is more of a mediocre warming throw for over $100.

I bought this blanket when one of the controls on our current blanket quit working. About one week after we received our Biddeford king size blanket one of the controls on that blanket quit working. I called the Biddeford service number listed in the blanket manual, and explained the issue. I had already done the troubleshooting of switching controls and verifying the power outlet, so the issue was the control itself.The service lady asked me her questions; where did I buy the blanket -- Amazon; and what was the model number of the control. Then she said that they would send us a new control.While I had her on the phone, I asked about the other blanket, which was also a king size Biddeford that I had purchased a few years ago from Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and again she asked for the model number. She said that our old blanket was a discontinued model, but that it was still within their five year warrantee. She said they would send us a new blanket as a replacement. That blanket arrived today, and the new control for our Amazon-purchased blanket arrived a few days ago.I read the reviews that complained about non-working controls. That can happen on any new product, but I've never experienced any better warrantee service than Biddeford provided. You won't find a better blanket or better product support anywhere. If you need an electric blanket, you cannot go wrong with a Biddeford.
