We got it for Christmas of 2021, no problems with anything falling out for us.

Yes, I have an 8 year old daughter that loves it. She is really into the human body and it's very detailed and the booklet has great information. I feel like this is better for 8 year old children because there are some more complex information. It also makes a great book end.
