Broke the screen on my pitboss copperhead needed a replacement working good so far. Just a little different now I have a true low smoke setting that works. Starting to like this one better than the factory original.

The OEM control panel went out and not covered under warranty. Bought this for two reasons. 1: OEM Controller on ETA is 8 weeks. It is summer and I want Ribs. 2: This replacement adds the P setting to fine tune smoke temp. Helps cooking low and slow. Some modifications to the smokers wiring to adapt this controller needed. Not brain surgeon but you can not be afraid of playing with electricity. Smoking 3 racks of Baby Backs right now and smoker is making those ribs happy. Seller quickly shipped.

Wires to short. I was expecting to make some modifications. But I wasn’t expecting the display to read “err”. The item never worked correctly. Also, it’s he housing for the original controller is slightly larger. The new controller won’t fit nicely into the original housing, so it needs to be installed without the housing as protection.

This was really easy to install. However when it comes to smoking the temperature fluctuates more than I’d like. Also it would be nice if the temperature increases were by 25 not 50 between 200-300. Besides that it was a good reliable replacement for the thermostat that went bad on my pitboss.

I have a Pit Boss. (not sure of the model) Installation was easy. Everything fit. It appears to be good quality. It is pre-set with a 25 degree threshold within my temperature settings. There are ways to modify that. But I left it there because it uses less pellets than before. I'll keep you posted to see if it lasts. I believe it will.
