Wow I am so surprized that there have been issues with this great little vacuum. i bought it for my grandson at 13 months old and have had no issues with it so far. He is 18 months now. It stands up on its own and does pick up a bit of small debris. It is his favorite toy, right up there with his remote controlled car. We just bought another one so he could have one at home.. If it broke tomorrow it would have been worth it and I would buy another

Yes it requires batteries. 3 or 4 "C"s if I remember correctly.

Is this safe for wood floors?

Yes, absolutely. I have wood floors and it doesn’t do anything to them.

Why was my order just suddenly canceled??

There could be any number of reasons for this to happen. It could have been canceled before it ever shipped because of issues the seller was having. First find out if it was ever shipped. If it never got to the shipping stage then you weren’t ever charged for it and you can look for other sellers that sell this item or choose to buy something else. I hope this helps
