Very nice!
I don't have much experience with Tobanjan, but like this one very much. The price is good, too. Since one puts chili oil in as well, the spice level works for us.

Good Taste
This is my first Toban Djan purchase. I do not know how authentic it is, but I like it. I am using it for almost everything now when I want to make the dish hot and spicy.

Good deal, but not as spicy
This product is a too good deal compared to the smaller sized(130g), but the quality doesn't seem same. Not as spicy and I used twice as amount to satisfy my taste.

Authenticity is questionable.
Initially I was pleased to find this in a large size jar. It only took a couple times of using the product to realize that this is not the same thing that I’ve been buying from local Japanese grocery for years. This product is chunky, product from Japan is smooth. This product has pieces of white colored solid things in it, maybe onions, I don’t know. The few times I used it I always wound up with significant stomach issues. It’s fake! Probably from China. Says right there on the jar”product of Japan “ it’s not the real thing.
