The Beadsmith Wooden Bead Loom, 12.5” x 13” x 3.5”, Includes Assembly Instructions

I did have to assemble it and needed pliers to twist in the hooks but I love how sturdy it is. I also like the length so I can make a full bracelet without winding the thread around the bars, I'm a size 6.5 to 7 inch bracelet, but measured and could make up to a size 8.5 without winding the thread. The width is also impressive I haven't done anything very wide but imagine the width is nice for a wall hanging or art piece, the width is about 9.5 inches. The loom itself once assembled is very sturdy which was my biggest issue with my last loom. Its also pretty big so you'll need a bit of table space for it.

Whomever designed this didn't weave or weave a lot. It's a nice, sturdy little loom. It has too many protruding metal parts. The wing nuts and cup hooks catch your weft very easily and it makes weaving a bit frustrating (when you're working with a longer weft.) Those little cup hooks work, but super annoying and there are too many of them. I'm going to replace them with small flat screws and washers and maybe use half the holes. I was looking for a larger loom and this fit the size requirements. But a much simpler loam would have been easier to weave with. It's not so bad that I won't use it. I've used it twice so far. It's just not designed by a weaver.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I was looking for a large loom. Not only is it like sleeping on your own King mattress-alone, this baby is made of quality materials and is delightful to work with. If you decide loom beading is your jam, do yourself a favor and upgrade to this loom. Compared to the intro looms it is night and day and opens the doors to so many fun project possibilities.

This is not great to assemble if you've got arthritis in your hands, but once it's assembled it's easy to use. Unfortunately the pieces it comes with do not match the pieces listed in the instructions, and there are two pieces in the box and in the instructions without any directions on how to use... it's two long wooden pieces labeled "stoppers" .. They fit into the slots on the "Warp Bar" but none of the instructions say to put them there or how to use them. Screwing in the eyehooks was so, so difficult, and one got stuck and bent into uselessness. I had to replace it with one from home depot. Assembly instructions are well written otherwise, and if the parts matched, would be nice and clear. But because assembly was mismatched and physically difficult, this gets a low rating. Easy to use once it's assembled, tho.
