Why does it take 17-28 days to ship? This deterred me from purchasing this item.

It says 17-28 days, but for me it arrived much sooner than that. I live in Washington State (USA) and I believe it ships from Hong Kong, China.

It doesn't say on the infuser, but I would guess it was made in China. I have had it almost 4 years and I use it at least twice a month, so it will last if you are careful with it. When I replace it, I will get one with a better locking mechanism.

Is there an easy way to clean out the tea from the mesh ball

In regards to your question, his product is dishwasher safe, for easy and convent cleaning. If that is not enough to get rid of any left over tea/tea leaves, try hand wash cleaning with warm water. For anyone who has had this for several months or more, is this product prone to rusting?

I have it since March 2016. Not a sign of rust. It looks like new.
