These are perfect for me: High rep and cardio in a very short time.
I have been doing exercise videos and running since 1986, have more than 1000 video workouts and have gotten rid of almost that many over the years. I go way back to Jane Fonda and Kathy Smith. (I am not dcapone; that is my husband as he has the Amazon Prime account.)The negative reviews calling this one too repetitive did not stop me from ordering because I love high rep workouts. I wanted these to cover my high rep desires in a very short time so that I can do them before I go to my outdoor boot camp and so that I will finally let myself devote some of my exercise time to all the yoga workouts I buy to, apparently, be used as dust collectors. I received the DVDs in two days and just did a couch-potato review of all the workouts.I loved what I saw. High reps, total body, cardio moves including moves that work the lower body very well - - all in a very short time. Just what I was looking for. I was surprised to see more variety than I was expecting based on the reviews. This isn't enough cardio for my desired high level of cardio fitness so I wouldn't use it without adding other forms of exercise, but it provides a good amount of cardio for a good level of fitness. If you find a high rep workout too easy for what you want, go heavier with your dumbbell selection. Just as in low rep workouts, select the weight that makes the number of reps difficult for you.If you find these workouts boring and did indeed go heavy enough to make the reps challenging, high rep workouts might not be your style. For the short time, there is plenty of variety in these. If you think you might like high reps but just didn't like these, try Jari Love's Get Ripped (the first one; the rest will kill you if you aren't ready) or maybe Beach Body's Slim Series. There is an imaginary part of being an exercise video lover: feeling as if you are there in the class or with the trainer one-one-one. In this one, the trainer's instruction is given as if there is a class but the style is one-on-one. If I had a magic tweak I could use to make this set perfect for me, I'd add class members to match her style, or change her style to be "my personal trainer". Comments about "yelling" don't seem right to me as there really is no yelling; just "teaching a large class" style. Funny: I love a very old workout video set by Tony Little. It is one-on-one style and he talks as if he is there for you one-on-one, yet he actually does yell a bit.

THE REAL DEAL!!
I just received this DVD set today & I was initially going to wait a while before writing my review, but this system is so awesome, I couldn't wait! I did "day 1" today, which is the Chest & Back workout, and I was drenched in sweat afterwards!! I was indeed a "Sweaty Betty." I also previewed all the other workouts, so that I can write this review with confidence. The workouts contain both toning & cardio exercises, which is a huge bonus (especially for busy adults). The exercises are done in sets of pyramids; you begin with 20 reps, and work your way down (I love this method). The workouts all contain sufficient warm ups & cool downs. Another huge bonus about these workouts is the time efficiency; all workouts are under 30 minutes. I also really love the 30 day workout calendar; Stephanie planned the workouts very accordingly, so that you're able to exercise on consecutive days without hammering the same muscles (allowing recovery). Another cool thing is the packaging; I like how the case is super thin & literally takes up minimal space in my collection of over 40 fitness DVDs.The workouts contain basic, but effective exercises (for example, the Chest & Back workout contained push ups, chest flyes, rows, tuck jumps, football runs, mountain climbers, etc.). I would consider these workouts to be intermediate & beyond, but Stephanie does show modifications for those who need them. I also love the timer on the upper left corner that shows you exactly how much time you have left in your workout. After reading some reviews on the other XTFMAX program, I was a bit worried that the production would be low quality, but this wasn't the case at all. The filming was great (as long as you can see & hear the instructor clearly, that's all that matters). Stephanie is very motivating throughout the entire workouts & it's filmed in real time; Stephanie is literally right there sweating with you & even taking tiny breaks for water as needed.I am extremely pleased with this program & I really appreciate how affordable it is!! I am obsessed with fitness DVDs; I own tons of them including all of the Biggest Loser workout DVDs & all of Jillian Michaels' DVDs. This program is now on my top favorites. I plan on completing the full 30 days, which I'm sure will give great results. One last thing, you can also do as many rotations of the 30 day plan as you want by increasing your weights!!Bottom line: awesome program, great instructor & a wonderful price!!!***UPDATE 8/17/2015***I am now on day 6 of the program & I can't get over how great these workouts are. I have now done all 5 workouts (instead of just previewing), and they're all exceptional! The pyramid method really makes the time fly!! I LOVE this program.

High Value: Mostly pros for this workout
Preface: I'm 50, but I've been working out since I was in my 20s, although I had gotten away from using weights, so this program appealed to me as a way to get back into weight training without going to the gym. Pros: 5 workouts targeting various areas are all under 26 min; you only need a mat and a 1-2 pairs of dumbbells for each workout; exercises are relatively easy or at least a modification is given to make them do-able until you are comfortable with the program; timer shows you how much time is left (total running time) and there is also a count-down dial for each individual exercise; and, instructions are given in timely manner and clear. Cons: the instructors' outbursts of "Woo" and "Come on" are loud and can become obnoxious; she doesn't use mirror-image instructions (i.e., she may be using her left leg to start with and that's what she says, instead of instructing the user to begin on the right leg so that you can do the mirror image); and, there is a LOT of getting up and down -- each alternate exercise set is on a mat -- as someone with low blood pressure, this can make you dizzy very easily. The gym appearance is kind of boring and not high-quality filming, but that does not impact the ability to do the workout.

Buy you won't regret it, recommended by a Top Personal Trainer.
What can I say, excellent. Cannot begin to praise this programme enough. I am an advanced Personal Trainer, bought this as I don't have the energy to write programmes for myself, and with this no gym membership to pay.*Positives1. Awesome programme, varied, works you at a good pace gets the heart rate up, however is you are a beginner you can scale it down to your level as there are modifications shown. Don't be put off. Advanced people you up the weights, so it is for everyone, no level of fitness excluded.2. Stepanie- Awesome trainer, very under-rated, Probably the best Trainer on the planet. Forget P90X and all the gimmicks, priced at £105, you get a months training here, for under £93. Stephanie is warm and friendly highly motivating. She lights up the room. She talks a lot, but I'm from East London, I love it, love her chat.Stephanie warm and friendly, knowledgeableNegativesNone at all, I'm very critical of most workout programmes. I am going to work my way through all of the X_train Fit. I have done RipT90 before, can't fault that either.I will do an another review of this in a few weeks.Word of advice buy XTF Max with it, (12 week programme) , I didn't realise, these two programmes, should be done together. Also never knew that there is a promotion on at the moment. BUY XTFMax and get the XTF MAX one on one free. I would have bought them together had I known, and got this product free, could kick myself but never mind.Stephanie if you are reading this, a massive thanks, however please consider having a difficulty rating system on your programmes, i.e. different levels of fitness on them,

Great workouts!
These DVDs are great, there are 5 workouts across 2 DVDs each about 25 minutes each. There is a 30 day programme included as well which helps you to schedule your workouts and provides some motivation. Ticking off the days you've done feels great! And at 25 minutes each are easy to fit in busy days. The workouts themselves are a good mix - repeating exercises yes but it never gets boring. Each session starts with a warm up and finishing with a cool down - which is always a plus.Stephanie Oram is very likable, and sweats along with you. Always encouraging, but giving full instructions, highlighting potential errors (i.e. knees swinging out of line on stretches) and demonstrating alterations too. But, if her encouragement becomes grating or you are not a fan of the music you have the option on the DVD to choose the soundtrack. But I haven't used that feature because actually I like the encouragement and the instruction.Lastly I thought the DVDs were really a great price compared to other workout DVDs. Just because they were cheap however hasn't made them any less enjoyable or effective. I have been using them for a month, I feel fitter and stronger. Great.

Great for beginners, a little too slow for advanced.
I have done 2 out of 5 workouts (arms + chest& back) and I've skipped through the other three. All in all they are great if you have only a short time frame to workout. The workout will get you sweating!I've been working out with Jillian Michaels DVD's before and in comparison I personally prefer the JM DVDs as they are faster paced and I feel that they are harder, that might be just me though!I feel like there's a little too much explaining going on here. If you're new to working out, the XTFMAX one on one series is the way to go though! If you're advanced you might not need all the talking! But I do feel encouraged to use heavier weights with XTFMAX than with JM as there's more time to finish the reps in your own time.So I do believe that this is a great workout routine, though I don't follow the 30 day plan as the strength workouts are only supposed to benefit my running, so they aren't my main focus. Also I really like the system of 420 reps in each workout! So I will keep using them to change things up or if I want to focus more on strength vs endurance.Qualitywise I'm a little disappointed with the packaging of the 2 DVDs, it's only paperback and the so called workout calendar is printed inside the DVD case.. I did expect slighty more judging from the photos!Overall I would recommend it for every level of one's activy.
