The best Superhero film ever made.

The 4k disc only has 2 not 2.1 which is strange. Also on the 4k disc the audio is not right. So if you want this product for the 4k disc don’t bother but otherwise it’s a good buy. Cheapest on amazon.

This was always my favourite spiderman movie and so was eager to see it in all it's 4K glory, but unfortunately,this purchase was slightly dissapointing on a couple of fronts. The major one was with the picture. While its not bad by any stretch and probably a (slight) step up from the regular Blu Ray (though I haven't done a side by side comparison), the picture's a bit soft and not as detailed as some other 4k movies I've watched. The film grain in particular seemed really prevelant, like smoke or ants moving accross the screen. Obviously this was shot on 35mm film, so grain is to be expected, but this is still quite recent so I was still surprised. I have watched other 4k movies shot on film, some of which are older than this one and I found this one quite bad. It may be the source and nothing they can do, but thought I'd call it out. Also I am watching this on a 92 inch screen, using a projector, so it's probably more noticable than on a smaller tv/monitor. Also, a minor point that is purely subjective, I did find the movie finally starting to show it's age, at least with me personally, which again slightly soured the experience. As I said, it's always been my favourite, but into the spiderverse has now overtaken it. There's just no bits of that movie that grate or make me cringe slightly, whereas Spiderman 2 definately suffers from 'Screaming Woman' syndrome, which for whatever reason bothers me more as I have gotten older. Update - Mud Nov 2021 Having seen more recent rave reviews of the raimi trilogy on 4k and having had an issue with one of the inputs on my projector, I thought I'd revisit to check my initial experience hadn't been impacted by too high expectations or dodgy equipment. Unfortunately, the answer is no. I own and have watched more movies on 4k disks now and this remains comfortably the worst for picture quality. And before you ask I'm Not just comparing to recent digital movies (though I watched endgame last night and it was breathtaking); Top Gun, Jaws, Hunt for Red October, all older than this movie and yet all have better picture. Out of curiousity I put in the Blueray for a comparison and while there was slightly better clarity, the image, how edges looked, and the grain were almost identical. Sony are meant to be good at putting out 4k disks, but on this evidence, I don't see it...

My son loves spiderman and watching the dvd's and this therefore was a great purchase for him. A very good buy and one I can enjoy with my son.

I love superbit ! I know now that Blue ray is on the scene and then it will be 4k! I wish they would make more only Sony saw the potential!
