Some other reviewers have had such a different experience with this light that I wonder if they got something completely different than I did.First, about the brightness. I am using it as I paint, and replace interior doors and trim. I find it sufficiently bright to light one medium size wall, a single door, etc. I am satisfied moving it around a bit as I need, but I can see it not being enough for someone who wants to light an entire room without having to move it around. You could buy two of these, though, and still be under $80.00.Second, about the "heat". The back of it does get hot, but you are not going to burn yourself it you bump into it or grab it in the wrong place and not by the handle. I would describe the "hot" like picking up a soup bowl that is hot: you are going to quickly put it down, but you are not going to drop it because you just got burned. I'll also add that this light has a very solid, quality-look heat sink on its back.Which brings me to overall quality. Everything about the one I received has a very solid feel, and if it had its name covered up it would not surprise me if this was made by Stanley. All the metal in the housing and stand feels solid, the power switch does not feel cheap, and the light covering is sufficiently thick that I don't think it would break unless hit very hard. The cord is also very long, so you don't always have to grab an extension cord to use it.I am really hoping this light lasts because I am very with it, and would happily buy a 2nd one if I needed to light a larger area at once.

Good bright LED lights light up my whole workshop outside I bought 2 but I only have to use one.

I do some work in a very large building with poor lighting (it's a storage building) and this light has worked out perfectly. I've had two people ask me where they could buy one so they could get one for themselves.

I wanted to wait to put a review in because sometimes these lights break or quit working early on. It’s been two months and so far so good. I was buying halogen lights from HD and they kept breaking after a while. I knew that LED lights in general were more durable and longer lasting so I gave this a try. This light is quite bright. It’s a white cool light not a warm yellow light that you get from halogen lamps. It doesn’t get real hot like the halogen lamps but it does get warm. This is a plus for me. And it’s not eating up all you electricity too.So far this product is great. And if it lasts for a long time, then well worth the money.

Other reviews mention the unit does not get hot to touch but just to clarify, this only applies to the front of the unit. On the back of the lamp is a metal heatsink that gets quite hot, enough to potentially burn your hand. The LEDs themselves only get warm to touch.As far as brightness, I found this unit to be very bright. Expect to see white stars if you stare at this light for more than a second or two. For a worklamp, the light is probably going to be sufficiently bright enough for most jobs. Wish it had a way to adjust the brightness.I like the swivel feature and its relative compact size that can fold almost flat. It feels about 2-3 pounds in weight.Just be careful not to touch the back of the unit when in use!

Provides a lot of light and does not get too hot to touch. The metal backing with heat sink fins can still be touched without issue after hours of being on. My biggest complaint is the wire. It has one and will always be exactly where you do not want it to be. Trade off of a plugin light. It is much brighter than any battery ones that I have used and feels a lot better quality. Ran the wire over a few times and haven't seen any signs of wear.

Great light. Very bright and excellent for working at night or in dark places. I hung it off my tree to light up backyard to keep working after the sun went down. This one light gave me enough light to finish a project.. awe light work light

this is not very bright but bright enough for working in my basement. its not going to blind you. seems well made .. will see how it holds up. not sure I would buy again. maybe.
