Does this actually create viaible muscle tone? Does it help to relieve back and neck pain via strengthening of the muscles? Is it easy to operate?

I have one. It is excellent and well built. I've used it about a year. It is supposedly used in chiropractors' offices. I don't know about muscle tone, but if I have back or neck pain, it very quickly (usually after one ten minute session) eliminates that. It is not so much strengthening of the muscles, as it is relaxing them, and overcoming the "favoring" that we unconsciously give to sore muscles. It is easy to operate. I suggest putting it in manual mode, turning up the vibrations to what is comfortable, but keeping the oscillation lower than 10, at least to start. If the oscillations are too high, they can injure you. The pre-set modes are very powerful. Maybe too powerful. Also, it needs some assembly, but it's not too difficult. I did it myself.

No they don't have double locks unfortunately!
