Dell MSA14 Single Arm Monitor Stand (MH1HV), Black

GREAT MONITOR! INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY BELOW I would like to bless all those who had trouble putting this masterpiece together. I may be too late to help you, but I heartily recommend this monitor stand, and will tell you how to put it together. Dell has a video showing that this monitor extends 24.6" from the back of the desk. My measurement was 24-3/8" DELL states that the stand will hold 20.5 pounds. DELL has a video on their website with the specs and instructions at http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=332-1235 The following may be more helpful. 1. Clamp base to desk (the top of the desk needs to overhang the side by 3") In my case, my overhang was only 1-7/8" and I tightened the nut as much as I could and then slid (forced) it on the desk, and tightened the nut as much as I could before it hit the upright on the back of the desk. 2. Remove the CAP that hides the wires on the lower arm. Use the largest flat blade screw driver and gently pry the cap loose starting at the bend (pointing at bend in photo) and working your way down to the end. Do both sides, and then slide the entire CAP off in the direction of the screw driver in other photo. 3. This stand came pre-greased, but the grease has dried up, and you want to clean it off and re-grease both ends on BOTH ARMS. It is particularly important to use a lot of grease on the plastic washer on which the LOWER arm sits. I had a Kohler kitchen faucet with the same arrangement, and the plastic wore out in 5 years. I consider this a heavier use than the sink faucet, and even suggest lifting the monitor enough to unweight it when you turn on this plastic gasket. I used a clear grease with Teflon on the gasket and all the pivot points. If you already own the stand and did not do this, consider doing it. 4. Slide the lower arm on the base and use the small allen wrench and turn the SMALL allen screw CLOCKWISE until it hits the base, then back it off a 1/4 turn. This screw is there to only hold the lower arm from sliding off the base. DO NOT TIGHTEN IT. 5. Remove the CAPS on both sides of the upper arm using your finger nails, and clean and grease this arm also. Put the upper arm on the lower arm and adjust the SMALL allen screw exactly the same way as in 4, above. 6. Attach monitor; I have a DELL and it just snaps on. 7. Attached power cord and monitor cable to monitor and hold the cables in place while replacing all three caps. Slide the lower CAP on the opposite way as it was instructed to be removed, line up the bottom of the cap to where it goes and squeeze it back on. 8. The last thing to do is to adjust the UPPER ARM for the weight of the monitor. When you bend this UPPER arm down, this will expose a large allen screw which you will likely have to loosen (COUNTER CLOCKWISE); to tighten (CLOCKWISE TURN). I am amazed as how much more desktop that I have now. I wish I had bought this thing ten years ago. HOW DO YOU LIKE MY COMPUTER; SEE YELLOW ARROW.

Easy to setup and easily held up my 20 inch widescreen dell monitor in a vertical position as a secondary monitor next to my dell 30 inch 2k. I got mine used and it worked and looked like new. In the photo I provided you can see that because of my glass desk I had to attach the monitor arm to the monitor riser which worked perfectly. The weight of my 30 inch held down the riser so that it would not tip over. Once it was attached, it was very easy to move the vertical monitor into the correct position and its stayed there since. If you own a dell monitor or a vesa compatible monitor and can find a cheap deal for this monitor arm, I say go for it as the build quality and functionality is well worth the $49 I paid!

I just got this set up for a Dell 27" touchscreen monitor. Overall, I like the stand. It works well with my desk. At first I was concerned because it was impossible to move the arm without a monitor attached to it. Don't worry though, it works great once a monitor is on it. It took my a good 2 hours to get set up though. The instructions are pointless. It doesn't tell you where to tighten and loosen to make adjustments. Worst yet, once I got the monitor on the stand, it kept loosing it's tilt. It took me a while to find the screw (Hint, it's right behind the connection plate on the arm itself). Once I found it, the included allen wrench was too small for the screw. I had to go to my toolbox to get one that one move it. I also had to tighten it excessively to get it to maintain the tilt. Also, if you get the 27" touch screen from dell, you will need to use the included vesa plate. And the thumbscrew used to hold the plate and arm tight against the monitor either would not line up correctly or was the wrong size. I ended up using one of the other screws to get it in. They should just drop the thumb screw and give us an extra flat or Philips screw to use since you can only put it in once you have the monitor on the stand. Having said all that, this is a great stand. It doesn't take up nearly as much space behind the monitor as I thought it would. It's pretty flexible and moves easy enough with out being to easy for accidental movement. The only complaint I have in use is when you are using a touch screen it does tend to wobble a bit, but not too bad. What I really love is how easy it is to pull the monitor up to me when I want to use it as a touch screen, and push it back when I want to use the monitor with a mouse and keyboard. It's a great accessary that anyone with a touchscreen should have.

The company I work for has approved products, one of which is a monitor arm. Mind you, it is not THIS monitor arm. I am public visible in a high-end office, and the "approved" arm looked like a robotic welder at a vehicle assembly plant. I asked what would happen if I bought something else. Their reply was, "We would not support it." LOL! You mean if the thing busted and my monitor crashed they wouldn't give me a new one? Or that if I ordered it they would not put it up for me? Neither seemed like much of a conformist threat, so I ordered this one (with my boss' permission). Even with the scant pictorgraph instructions, the assembly is very straightforward and fully logical. Since I already had a Dell monitor perhaps that made it extra easy, but the instruction and parts included for fitting another brand looked just as easy to follow. The only issue I had was easing the tension on the weight adjustment. At first I couldn't get the thing to move and wondered at that point if there was an error in the instructions. But applying a great deal of force I was able to get the joint to bend enough to slip in the included hex wrench and ease it up significantly. Even after a days' use, reclaiming some of my desk, I feel this arm is excellent. After using it for a while I hope to find that getting one for my second monitor will be just as useful. "Support" from the IS department be darned.

Easy to set up. Easy to move around. Holds up 3 U2311H monitors. All of them stable and easily adjustable. A little expensive, but worth it. Update November 3, 2016: Stands are still great. I now have 4 of them. They are now holding heavier monitors (U2515) just fine. Note that the U2515 requires the included VESA adapter plate to be installed to fit properly. Also, instructions aren't even necessary to put this together. I have no idea how people are having problems with it.

Using this with the Ultra Sharp and ultra wide 21:9 monitor from Dell. I didn't even read the instructions and had mine set up within 7 minutes, no screws, it clicks right on the monitor securely. I gained a huge amount of desk space installing this arm and I did no damage to the wall installing a wall bracket. The adjustments and mobility are fantastic as I use my desk for recording as well and this lets me push my monitor out of the way to use the mic. I was scared to use this with Dell's U3415W monitor because it was at the upper limit of the weight limit the arm is rated for, but I'm happy to report that it works just fine with it. Just remember to adjust the spring tension for your monitor and you'll have years of enjoyment from this arm.

Works as advertised and without issue, but pales in comparison to my other arm stand (Ergotech) for an equivalent price. Skip the name-brand and go with other options (even if you need to buy mount adapters). Update: June 2018 As time has gone on, I've become less and less impressed by this mount. While technically stable enough to hold a monitor, even light typing can cause it to shake and wobble. It tilts out of position easily, has to be readjusted for leveling each time I rotate the arm, and just generally feels like it was designed for a low budget office. Given all this, I would not only never buy this product again, but never buy any Dell branded stands. Instead, I'm going with a second Ergotron with an adapter mount. Update: Aug 2018 The arm can no longer even hold up the monitor, which now ends up tilted at a severe angle. This, combined with the fact I had to return/replace a previous Dell monitor (within the warranty period), leads me to believe the arm is one of the worst purchases I've encountered for a supposed high quality item.

The arm is very rugged - the only difficulty is that it was so tight that it had to be secured to a desk before opening the arm at all, which led me to believe it was defective. The instructions need to say secure it to something before trying to articulate it out.

Great item, holds my U3415W perfectly with no sagging and leaves an ultra minimal look to the desk which is what I wanted. Cables are hidden and you can hide two down each side of the arm no trouble. Very easy to assemble and fit together.

El único inconveniente que le pongo es que Dell me había mencionado vía Chat que este brazo soportaba la ubicación para colocar un monitor encima de otro es decir en posición vertical. Esto no es correcto. Funciona bien si es horizontal. Afortunadamente el escritorio que tengo tiene una posición para la impresora y gracias a ello colocando el brazo en esta superficie pude colocar el Display encima del otro. Por lo demás es seguro y fiable. El organizador del cableado es genial.

Ayant un Dell UP2716d, je voulais un bras design et d'origine Dell ne serait-ce pour la fixation en 1 clic de chez Dell donc je me suis orienté vers ce MSA14. Une fois réceptionné, je découpe une encoche derrière mon bureau sinon impossible de le fixer. Ensuite, il faut visser une petite équerre au pied du bras, qui servira d'étau contre le bureau. Malheureusement j'ai du serrer les vis un peu trop fort (L'écran pesant son poids, je ne voulais pas prendre le risque que le bras lâche et tombe sur le bureau, vu le prix de l'écran) et le pas de vis a foiré. Depuis, l'équerre ne tient plus. j'ai du faire appel à un collègue pour modifier la fixation avec un contre-écrou, au moins ça ne risque plus rien, je peux bouger l'écran sans problème. Donc le produit en lui-même est bon, le bras est super bien articulé, il fait tout le travail comme il faut mais la qualité de fabrication de l'étau n'est pas super solide, prévoyez de le renforcer parce que même si vous ne serrez pas très fort les 2 vis de l'équerre, vous allez surement serrer l'étau assez fort contre le bureau et l'équerre se déboitera du pied...
