How To Set Up An FLR: A Couple's Guide to Female Led Relationships

This is, without a doubt, one of the best books about FLR's - or relationships in general - that we have ever had the privilege to read. Mistress Ivey's tone is warm, friendly, and relatable. She has obviously lived what she preaches, and it shows. From the beginning, she stresses the importance of communication, openness, honesty, and trust, and recognizes how very hard they are to achieve sometimes while still being essential. She gives real-world examples of things you may be worried about and how to address them. She relates many points back to her own personal life, and isn't afraid to tell us about her own concerns/missteps/successes in her personal relationship, in order to help us, the readers, grow along with her. She truly recognizes the emotional aspect of setting up a female-led relationship in a world where it is simply assumed that the male is the leader by default. She talks about guilt and fear, and how to overcome them, Her patient, caring tone, combined with her positive and respectful attitude and her thorough coverage of the material, helped clarify so many things for me, and I'm so grateful for having read this book. There are several quizzes in this book. DO THEM ALL WITH YOUR PARTNER! These are not just useless Cosmo quizzes. The discussion that will come from it is invaluable. Start with the first chapter. Figure out the relationship style that you want, and find out what your partner wants too. This makes sure that you'll be on the same page for everything else that follows. Do all the quizzes, and make sure you each answer separately. Talk about the similarities, and how you can focus on those, and talk about the differences, and see if they're things that you can work out - you may not be as far apart as you think! It's so hard sometimes to open up about topics like relationships and sex, and the questions presented here really help get the ball rolling and make sure that you're working together instead of against each other. After the fundamentals and the quizzes, the book moves into different examples of things to do in an FLR, as well as adding aspects of BDSM if you so desire. The examples are wonderful, and if anything, Mistress Ivey's writing style becomes even more personable and direct. Reading this book is a breath of fresh air in a world of mostly mediocre (or worse) books on FLR's. I have read through this book several times now. My slave has read through it even more. He constantly refers back to it, going back to different chapters, finding new things and bringing them to my attention. We've worked through more FLR issues with this one book alone than with everything else we've ever purchased, combined. And still we find new things that help us even more. This book has improved our relationship in a way that nothing else has. The only concerns I have are extremely minor and not even worth knocking a tenth of a star off, let alone a whole star. First, as Mistress Ivey says, her relationship is further down the M/s continuum than most others, so some of the examples may be a little extreme for first-time people. For anyone who finds this to be the case, remember, as she says, that any examples she gives aren't requirements to be followed. Some things may take time to grow into; some things may never end up being your cup of tea. And that's okay. Take what you need and leave the rest. Second, the ending is a little abrupt - a conclusion of some sort would have been appreciated. And finally, there are some spelling and syntax errors (as you can tell simply by looking at the cover image). Having an editor look it over would really help get it to a truly professional level. (I gladly offer my slave's services for this - he has an extensive background in editing. If this is something you would like, Mistress Ivey, please let me know so a new edition can be even more perfect.) Simply put, there is no reason you should not own this book. If you're in an FLR, buy this book. If you've never been in one but are considering it, buy this book. Even if you're not interested in FLR, but are looking to work through some issues in the relationship (and would like some interesting ideas for the bedroom!), buy this book. If I could give it ten stars out of five, I would. BUY THIS BOOK.

This book really helped me understand and open my eyes to all the possibilities. It's written in a way that makes you comfortable and encourages you to learn and grow with your partner. I think our relationship will flourish and grow as we put our agreement together.

My Wife and I have been going down the road of a Female Lead Relationships (FLR) for some time. While it has been a wonderful experience for both of us, it has felt like we were traveling without a roadmap. Recently I have been looking for genuine sources of information on this topic. I also have needed as safe way to present more advance ideas to my Wife. Finding good information can be a challenge because there is so much crazy stuff on the Internet. The author of this book presented information in a safe and honest way that answered so many of my questions and concerns. After reading it I passed the book along to my Wife and she enjoyed it as well. If you are a wondering how to broach a FLR and/or male chastity with your partner then this is the perfect place to start. If you are a couple who has been experimenting with FLR and think you want to take it to a higher level than this book is a MUST READ!

Maybe a good book for absolute beginners. If you're still at a phase where things like this are very sexy and exciting, you'll probably at least be titillated. If you are a very conventional, straight, largely vanilla female, this book may help you become more comfortable with the idea of an FLR. If you're looking for a serious, detailed guide that gets down to the nitty gritty of what it's like to live in an FLR in and out of the bedroom, this isn't it. If you're looking for an examination of the psychology and love in an FLR, this isn't it. If you've gotten past the novelty stage of femdom and are trying to take it out of the bedroom, but need more than sexual excitement to make it work, this guide isn't for you. I'm sure it's for someone, it just wasn't for me. I found the described archetypes strange, the gender politics of it tone-deaf. This book seemed written with a couple for whom femdom is still new and exciting in mind- of course it is a guide to setting up an FLR, so it shouldn't be for experts. But, it seemed much more about sexual fantasy than it was about practicing a female-led-relationship. If you need some encouragement to get out of your shell as a female in the bedroom, you might like it.

A surprisingly good book that rivals The Mistress Manual. It is practical, motivational, realistic, and helpful. Unlike many other books it is detailed and comprehensive. It's erotic but places a clear priority on a successful relationship over fantasy and and kink. It speaks with a credible voice of experience and reflects the real priorities of real women and men in female dominant relationships. There is a refreshing honesty that contrasts with the unconvincing swagger of other authors. In some ways the advice is clearly ahead of even The Mistress Manual and Lady Green, for example the treatment of cuckolding properly highlights the serious emotional emotional and relationship risks, whereas other works gloss over it as basically non problematic, which is a typical fantasy but a dangerous one. This book has the potential to be the new Mistress Manual. Superb.

An excellent read very informative. Gets people thinking about how they want in their relationship set up, good advice and questionnaires that will help you to identify what it is you each want and what your comfortable with. Lots of basic information on techniques and suggestions on how to apply them to get the inexperienced started.

A very good Guide. Normaal explanation, easy setup. Step by step and your woman is the bos. Don't start with focus on sex but other importance tings.
