I Trust Shimano’s Quality To Keep My Chain Together
Shimano CN-M732 Chain Pin (7/8 Speed), 3PC Set was exactly what I needed to reconnect my Shimano 8 speed chain on my MTB.Replacing the extracted pin is easy. Using my Oumers bike chain tool, the pin slid into place easily, letting me know it was seated when I could feel a slight ease in pressure while turning the tool. Once in place, the unneeded portion of the pin is easily snapped off w/a pair of pliers.Knowing these pins are manufactured by Shimano, I’m confident they’ll stay in place while riding & cranking on the chain. As the description says, there are 3 chain pins in this package. The pins are good for 6, 7 & 8 speed chains. The pins will not work on 9, 10 or 11 speed chains. The grooves for the chain links on these pins are too wide apart for the 9, 10 & 11 speed chain links. Those chains are narrower to accommodate the higher number of sprockets on the cassettes. Be sure to order the correct pins for your chain. These Shimano pins cost more than other chain pins you can find for sale, but I trust Shimano’s quality over most others.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful.

They work - not much to it
These chain pins worked for me - I used one with a Shimano CN-HG50 6/7/8-Speed Chain that I bought off Amazon also. I installed the chain, it worked fine, but I realized I had left it too long - I didn't remove any links from the chain. Therefore, when in lower gears the chain was doubling on itself, not a good thing to have happening. Unfortunately Shimano only provides on chain pin with the chain, so I had to buy the replacement set here in order to shorten it - you can't reuse the pins once they are in the chain. That said, the replacement ones seem fine and the one that I used went in no problem and has worked well in the bike. But $9 for three tiny pieces of metal? Overpriced in my opinion and I think that Shimano should provide more than one with the actual chain. But there aren't too many places to buy these, and with free 2-day shipping with Prime I guess $9 isn't bad, especially if its a long drive to the bike store. So chances are they will work fine, just make sure that you're buying the right pins for the right chain.

You get chain pins, not the ball bearing.
Shimano chain pin with small dimple in the end is easy to install. Parts are excellent, with slight shoulder for snugging in side links. Perfect design. So five stars. Price seems totally ridiculous to me. one star.

Ignore the picture, these are the chain pins you are looking for (8 speeds on rear cassette)
The picture is obviously wrong. The product is three replacement chain pins for 7/8 speed shimano chains. Using the appropriate pin driver tool, this made it easy to install a new chain and the remaining pins go in my emergency supplies in the road bag.

If you service shimano chain you need these, no sane alternatives.
If you're old school push the pin back after breaking the chain, you don't even know you need these (until your chain breaks in the middle of a ride). But, you do need these if you run a fancy Shimano chain: (1) It's the method Shimano says to use (not recommend: there's no alternatives); and (2) it's easier than pushing the old pin back in anyways. Way easier.

The picture is wrong. You get pins. Why it can't be corrected seems to be an Amazon mystery.
Worhs as expected.

get this and keep 'em around
Shimano chains may not be the "break apart" sleek thing that others do, but they are effective and long lasting. I broke the pin that came with my chain and this resolved the issue

These pins are exactly what I needed and are the same size as the pin that came with my Shimano replacement bike chain. Will keep these handy.
