Solid radio & great intro to shortwave
The Greadio T26 is a great value. It is probably my favorite radio purchase on Amazon, in terms of the cost you pay and what it delivers. It is very sensitive & selective on all of its bands (AM, FM, SW). It does not provide weather band or longwave reception. It goes head to head with my Tecsun PL-880 and sometimes has better reception (and the Tecsun costs six times more). It actually provides extended bandwidth on AM (i.e. good treble/not muffled) - which is rare for a radio under $100. And the radio has a tone control, which brightens or softens the sound. You can also play with the tone control in the middle position and get both a bass and treble boost. I have also found this radio is very easy on the batteries, where months after loading in the required D batteries I am still on the original set. I use this radio daily. It does not have a small footprint, but this is a small trade-off for the sound it delivers. Tiny radios in this price range sound very tinny and don't come close to how good this one sounds, or get as loud as this one does. The only downside of this radio, which is probably nitpicking at this price, is that on the shortwave band, the tuner does not accommodate frequencies ending in a "5" because it expresses them in megahertz, not kilohertz. For example, I can often pick up Radio New Zealand from where I am in Colorado at night. But when they broadcast on the frequency 17675 KHZ, the Greadio T26 radio only allows me to dial it in as either 17.67 or 17.68 MHZ. The additional decimal place that kilohertz would offer is missing - so I am not picking up the actual frequency in these cases. I can still hear the signal, but this radio also has built-in noise suppression and thus the frequency cuts in and out because I am not truly dialed in on the right frequency. Also, another small annoyance with this radio, is tuning in stations on shortwave. You have to be very careful with this dial to get the exact frequency you want. It could take several attempts going on either side of the frequency to finally land on frequency. I have become better over time at managing this, and for the price, this is not a huge issue. But it will be easy to miss stations on shortwave unless you already know they are there. The tuner readout does not light up, which is not surprising for the price point and not a big deal. The tuner knob is also large and on shortwave this is nice because you can go up and down the dial quickly. This is helpful because this radio has no auto scanning capability. All in all, this radio is a great buy and also a great way for someone who's never played around with shortwave to be able to do so at a very low price point. I highly recommend it for this purpose. PS - A note for first time shortwave enthusiasts. Keep in mind that the shortwave band is extremely susceptible to interference from electronic devices, lights, and power sources. You will probably want to invest in a wire antenna that can clip on to the aerial as this radio does not have an antenna jack. Also, you will generally have a lot better luck with shortwave in the evening, night, and early morning. Shortwave radio works by bouncing off the ionosphere, which allows it to travel around the world at the right times of day. For daytime in a metropolitan area, unless a frequency is based somewhat near you on your continent, is very high wattage (100,000 watts+), and the transmitter is aimed at you, you are not likely to pick up much. Be patient, and use online sources that provide shortwave broadcast frequencies to know what you are listening to and when you can pick up different stations. Shortwave stations sometimes will change frequencies every hour. I also highly recommend to take a radio like this camping, as you will find the reception increases exponentially when you get away from the big cities and all of the interference they provide. I have picked up shortwave signals from all over the world in rural areas during the daytime, with just a portable radio and a 25 ft wire antenna. Have fun!

DSP radio convincingly tunes like an analog radio
This is a DSP radio but it convincingly tunes like an old analog radio- it's really nice as far as this goes. But I wish it had high/low bandwidth switch instead of tone (the bandwidth is too wide for AM and SW, but for sure the radio IC has narrower bandwidth modes), and I wish it had more SW bands to make them narrower for easier tuning. The volume control is using a linear-taper pot, but it should be audio-taper (did they run out of audio taper pots?). This makes it difficult to adjust at low volume. The tuning control feels like mush (there is a string and wheel based reducer between the knob and the tuning pot, but it's too cheap). The SW/FM/AM switch is really a slide switch- with some linkage to make it into a rotary switch- this is why the settings are only like 5 degrees apart. The earphone is mono (even though the radio IC can certainly do stereo). This radio will not charge batteries when the cord is plugged in (this is a good thing- it's safe to use NIMH batteries). LCD has no backlight (IMHO, this is also a good thing). Despite my criticisms, the radio is nice in that you can actually tune in SW stations in the way you could on old analog radios. Many cheap DSP radios are hopeless at this. The sound is good thanks to the largish speaker and good audio power. The controls are simple, you don't need a manual. This radio is good for elderly people. The LCD is nice and large.

Worth your consideration
Live in the out back of WV mountains and poor to no reception is the norm. Was a little skeptical when I read the product summery especially at the low asking price. Here to tell ya, this rather simple radio delivers. We now are able to listen to stations hundreds of miles away with no problem. Nice sound , easy to use, very affordable price. And the delivery time was very fast. We especially like the power option. Battery or 110V .

CITY RADIO
My experience: This is a city radio, one that has lots of AM and FM radio stations. No AM reception if the station is more than 40 miles away from your location. Most AM reception is full of static. Local FM reception is great but you must know the exact broadcast frequency of the FM station for best reception as the tuner has lots of drift. I like that it operates on 4-Dcell batteries so I can move it from room to room. The speaker works better for voice than music. The shortwave design is, 4.70 through 18.00 MHz which includes all international broadcast bands, 16 through 60 meter bands. My experience, you must use a shortware antenna to get any reception. If your looking for quality long distance AM reception look elswhere, maybe a used GE Super Radio or the C. Crane company model CCRadio-EP PRO.

Perfect for my mom
I got this radio for my mom, whom I'm the caregiver for. She hates TV and lives the talk radio stations. The other radio she had was nothing but static and hard to tube. This is a great size, lightweight and small footprint. It's so easy to tune and read. There is no static and the voices come in loud and clear, not funny or mumbled like her last radio. It's a simple design which is perfect for my elderly mom, few buttons and dials. It took her just a minute to figure it out. This is my 4th try at finding the perfect radio. I sent 3 back but this one is a keeper. Quality, built to last and easy operation, clear and loud.

Dale Carter in Lacombe Alberta Review of Greadio T26 am/fm/sw 3 band digital radio
Excellent radio Excellent reception on local and distant stations. No complaints. Excellent sound. The Greadio Vintage AM/FM/SW radio with large LCD Display and clock-Portable Desktop has excellent sound and picks up distant stations and nearby stations with excellent clarity. It is simple to use, and I have no complaints. It is the best radio I have ever bought. For the price it is probably the best radio one can buy. Mr. Dale Carter, Lacombe, Alberta, Canada

It is as described ,easy to use and great sound for a small portable radio
It looks good and as described and sounds great. The only feature that I haven't been able to test yet is the reception in areas where signals are weak.
