MaloneGalvanized Trailer Spare Tire with Locking Attachment for MicroSport Trailer

Excellent match with the trailer.A little pricey for what you get but it does work well.Would be nice if it came with a cover to protect from UV. Having a difficult time finding the proper size spare tire cover.

Everything arrived in good shape, and the wheel/tire is just fine - exactly as shown in the pictures. My only gripe is that the mounting bracket they include doesn't come with instructions, and if you aren't familiar with how they work, you probably have no hope whatsoever of getting it to work without seeing some pictures of it. SO, don't bother to try to figure it out by yourself - go online and see what it looks like - then installing is a breeze!

This is the spare tire to match the Malone MicroSport trailer.The galvanized coating is rough in many places, but the coating is rust proof but NOT so attractive.I'm sure I'll get many years of use out of this durable and well made product.But the finish is less than smooth and I was almost ready to return it and sink money into THREE alloy rims.The price is right and it is a utility trailer - I just wish Malone could clean up the galvanized finish.Did I mention that it's uneven and unattractive?

I was impressed with how thick the galvanizing was on the wheel of this spare tire. Since most of the wheel's life will be spent out of service, riding on the frame of my kayak trailer, I appreciate this attention to detail. I did buy a heavy-duty vinyl cover from Tire-covers.com that perfectly fit the 20 inch diameter of this wheel.

I use this on the Malone Microsport trailer. It mounts fine on the tongue but keep in mind that if you have the retractable tongue kit installed it will not allow you to retract the tongue all of the way due to the spare mount. This holds true also if you have a Microsport XT as that trailer has the retractable tongue. I'm trying to find another location to mount the spare which won't cause me to remove it every time I want to retract the tongue for vertical storage.

I had recently purchased the MicroSport trailer and bought this spare for obvious reasons, however this tire and rim does not even match the tires that come with the trailer which I thought was odd. Also, the mounting bracket it came with didn't come with the necessary bolts to secure it to the tongue of the trailer.Additionally I'd like to point out that this mounting hardware is not a preventative measure to keep someone from lifting it, someone with a crescent wrench can easily walk away with this tire if they should be so inclined, the holes that allow for a lock to pass through is completely pointless as I pointed, just undo the nuts and... FREE TIRE.I really wish this came with better mounting hardware and the tire actually match the ones on the trailer, kind of dumb.

A bit pricey, but matches the rims and tires of the original trailer. Can mount at various locations onto the trailer.
