Your First Big Step in Going Green Starts Here
I care a lot about living green and preserving our environment so my friend suggested I pick up Aquaponics 101. The book was inspiring. SO inspiring that I'm building my own Aquaponics garden this weekend. The book is short (I finished it in less than an hour), but it cuts the fat so that you get a wealth of information in a short, easy read. By the time I reached the last page, I knew exactly how these gardens work, what to buy and how to put one together.Even if you aren't ready to build an aquaponic garden of your own, it's a fascinating read. Leavitt explains how today's "organic" food may or may not be as safe as you think, and the synergy between the fish tank and the plant life is amazing. It makes you wonder why more farmers aren't choosing this method over pesticides and fertilizers.I highly recommend this book.

Proof- read and edit first prior to printing please.
It would have been nice to have had this one polished up and edited for misspelling etc. prior to being put into print. I can see someone being annoyed enough about all the errors and confusion to just toss it and find another text on the subject. I don't think the author even had anyone proof read this first. Big mistake. I believe the author knows what "his" subject matter is but it is somewhat annoying for the "reader" to push through. The saving grace is that it is a quick read and an interesting subject. Next time have your child's fifth grade English teacher look it over first. Just a suggestion.

Aquaponics
My husband said: Not much practical information. There's more useful free information available on the internet than this book offered. Was a quick overview with no practical technical advice.

Essential Guide for Aquaponics
This book is very detailed and easy to understand. It is designed to be easy to follow, comprehensive, and fun. It helps you for setting up your own aquaponics system there. The book also describes some of the advantages of aquaponics farming. This book has everything you need to know about aquaponics gardens. It explains what types of aquaponics systems there are what types of fish and plants can you grow and how. This book provides a step-by-step guide to raising vegetables and fish together. The book also contains the lists of strategies to setting up an aquaponics gar den in your home. . I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about starting an aquaponics system, or anyone who wants to improve a system already in place.

A practical way of raising organic produce.
Setting up an aquaponic garden system in my own backyard is a practical way of ensuring organically raised vegetable produce. I have learned from this book that any plant can be grown using this system so I might as well try raising vegetables for consumption purposes. The guides in setting up this system is not that complicated at all. Although this book does not explain specifically the efficiency of such system, I can always experiment using the basic guidelines and management techniques presented in this book. I think this is a conservative way of starting and developing a small scale business out of aquaponic gardening. If everything holds true in developing aquaponic systems, then businesswise, there is a lot of potential for such kind of a gardening system.

Really basic
I was expecting a bit more detail on when and how to use various systems. If you know nothing about hydroponics and you have Kindle Prime, get it for free.

This book is a scam.
I bought a couple Kindle books on Acquaponics, including this one, for the convenience of being able to read the material right away, by download. That worked, but the rest of the story was just bad news. You will learn very little from the materials. It seems to be an unequal compilation of various online sources - it does cover the basics, but in terms so general that it is virtually unusable. For instance, in Chapter 7, under the heading "Choosing Fishes", the author lists a number of fish species under the general comment "Hobby fishes that are inedible and edible fishes can both be grown in aquaponics. The most common and successfully raised fishes in aquaponics include the following:"The text offers no help on actually choosing a fish species. The text sample provided also shows the poor quality of the editing. This example illustrates the failure of the entire book to give you value for your money. I do not recommend this book at all, and actually believe it is a scam.
