Great book for Grandma
This is my second Karen Katz book, and I love this one as much as the first. I like the simplicity of the books for babies/toddlers. My daughter goes to my mum in the days, so my mum gets to read this book to her granddaughter. My mum already loves it. I had read previous reviews that did not like the emphasis on Grandma bringing gifts, so I was in to minds about buying. However, I find the gifts to be simple and sweet, like homemade cookies.

Love this series! Grandkids love lifting flaps!
The only funny thing is that the Grandma looks more like a Great Grandma (or my own grandmother). We aren’t all out of shape with glasses! Lol! Love the book, the things Grandma does and brings (hugs, cookies, gifts, etc.). My 18 month old loves it.

This is a deeper book than you'd think.
My 3 year old granddaughter first introduced this book to me while I was at her house for a visit awaiting the birth of her new little sister. My first thought was, "well it's a board book so it'll be too simple for it to be good"... I read it the first night at bedtime, then the second night, then the third night and it continued on for the entire month I was there! LOL....sure we both knew it by heart very quickly and would read it out loud together, but that was half the fun. I'd do funny voices when I read it and sometimes changed a few of the words to kind of mix it up...But she enjoyed it so very much EVERY time. When I got back to the state where I live, I bought my own copy (just because I'm a kid at heart and I wanted to have something tangible of those beautiful reading memories with her.) I was further rewarded one day when she was having a hard time taking her afternoon nap. When my daughter called, I asked if I could talk to my little "Peanut"...I told her to go get her book and I would read it to her and she had to follow along and open all the little flaps. She did of course and she giggled the whole way through as if it were the first time she was hearing it. It was another priceless moment for this grandma...and she didn't have any trouble going down for her nap after that either. It's amazing what will capture a little ones attention. Sometimes we adults make things too complicated. As for me, I love to see things through the eyes of a child.

Great
I got this book for my wife to read to our granddaughter just because of the symbolism, but now at the end of reading the little one always bends over to my wife to give her a kiss (when you read the end you'll get it). So, it's become a special book between them. The grandmother is kind of stereotypical looking (doesn't look like my wife at all), but our granddaughter doesn't care. It also has repeat items on each page so you can have fun finding them over and over. A nice mix of intellectual and kinetic training and really fun. Recommended for all grand-moms.

Where's the boys' version?
My 14-month-old grandson adores this book. He brings it to me constantly for reading. I think the grandma is perfect (she looks like me.) He thinks it's about me and him, although he doesn't wear his hair in pigtails or wear nightgowns to bed like the little one in the book. He's excited to see what's in my suitcase for him whenever I show up. He pretends to eat the cookies the grandma bakes and pick the flowers in the book. And he always kisses me at the end. I'd love to see this in a version for boys before he starts talking and asks me for a red nightie!

Grandma and daughter loved it!
This was absolutely adorable! We have two other of these books where is babies bellybutton and where is babies pumpkin! They are all some of my daughters favorite books. The illustrations are great and the quality of the flaps is good. I got this because my mother was coming to visit and my daughter hasn’t seen her grandma in over year and it was a great way to prepare her for the visit. Then my mom enjoyed reading it to her when she got here! It was adorable to see the two of them together reading this book. Highly recommend for for two-year-olds!

Someone special is at the door.Who could it be?It gramdma!

14 month granddaughter loves it.
14 month granddaughter loves it. Doesn't set super high expectations on the gramma as the gramma in the book does everyday things and makes them fun. The flaps could be a little stronger and sturdier but that is not a deal breaker.
