Family of (5) African Cichlids 2" Live Tropical Fish Assorted Alonocara Peacock Cichlid Fish

I have never ordered fish online before let alone through Amazon. But I decided to roll the dice on these guys and glad I did. All fish arrived alive and in good health and have great color. They also came early, and I was really impressed with the packaging. The vendor also packs in a little heat pack to keep the fish warm upon arrival. Would definitely order again. Update: Fish are all still alive and doing great! But the vendor definitely uses hormones to get there colors to shine. After a few weeks their bright and vibrant colors started fading.

My husband told me I was crazy to order live aquarium fish online, but the reviews were good enough I decided to chance it - I am so glad I did. They all look healthy, have beautiful colors and were very active right from the start. I have a 60 gallon tank so they were a bit difficult to get good pics. They were moving too fast, lol. The delivery was a little wonky. They were to be delivered on the 5th. I received an email notifying me they would be delayed until the 11th. I received them on the 6th. I was really glad I happened to be home at the time! I'm not taking off any stars for the delivery because the fish are so nice. Update Jan 15, 2025: One fish died within a week of receiving them, and one other died about 2 months ago, so, about 16 months old (might have been female, not much color). HOWEVER, of the three remaining, "Big Blue" is very big (probably 6"), "Yellow Boy" is about 4 1/2", the last fish I'm fairly sure is female is about 4" (yes, she looks rather bad)- but WE NOW HAVE BABIES! I can see 2 and maybe 3. I have been watching them grow for the past week. Not sure how they have survived but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The listing shows photos of beautiful, healthy, vibrant, and colorful cichlids, but what I received was far from that. False Advertising: The fish in the photos are stunning, but the ones I received were tiny, colorless, and no bigger than a guppy. This is blatant false advertising. Dead on Arrival: All five fish arrived dead. They were floating in nasty water, which was a heartbreaking sight. I understand that shipping live fish can be challenging, but this was unacceptable. Unresponsive Seller: I tried reaching out to the seller multiple times to resolve this issue, but they have not responded to any of my messages. This lack of customer service is incredibly frustrating. Poor Quality: Even if the fish had arrived alive, they were of such poor quality that I wouldn’t have paid more than $5 each at a local pet store. They were tiny and lacked the vibrant colors promised in the listing. Overall, this purchase was a complete waste of money. I strongly advise against buying from this seller. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere for your cichlids. I hope this helps you convey your experience effectively. Nice size and nice quality

*EDIT* I made a second purchase from this seller, and was very happy with these guys as well. Gorgeous fish, arrived healthy, packed well, box was insulated and contained a heating pack since I live where it’s still cold. Temp on arrival was 75, perfect being I keep tank 78. Both shipments arrived overnight via FedEx. Beautiful fish, arrived to Illinois all alive and healthy, well packaged. Very bright colors, and it was very easy to get ahold of seller for information. Very happy with my purchase, and will be buying from this seller again shortly for another tank. I want to stress that I have been keeping cichlids for years, and I have a few wild caughts. These fish are not washed out looking like you get from petco or petsmart. I am impressed with the quality.

I've not ordered fish online before. After this I won't ever again. When the fish arrived and I opened the package it smelled terrible. There was a dead fish in it which made me concerned enough not want to put any of them in my tank to risk the lives of my other fish. The fish were small like most of the other reviews stated. The colors weren't as vibrant as the photo but they were beautiful fish. I'm just nervous to put them with my other fish. Most local pet stores are limited on selection so I was hoping for something new and exciting but instead as I said I went from excitement to disappointment.

Ok so to clear the air I received my (1st ) order today ordered them day B4 yesterday I live in Alabama they shipped the next morning and was on my door step the next day from California in absolutely and I cannot stess that enough ABSOLUTELY PERFECT condition. I am blown away they are exactly what is described in color size and quality I will 100% be ordering another shipment next pay day and I just found my new favorite fish shop... I've always been worried about ordering fish online but this was my first experience and I will only order from these guys from now on if you are looking at this item and 2nd guessing if it's gonna be a good deal just click buy now you will not be disappointed

All fish are still alive. They arrived well and seem to be in good condition. One however died due to stress but it was partially my fault. The rest of them are doing fine now. They are all female so they wont be having that wonderful bright coloration, but now they are having babies!
