Perfect train for a 3-year-old super train fan! The easy remote control is great and works exactly like the LionChief remote for Lionel's trains for older kids. The train is big and fun to watch with moving eyes on Thomas's face. The tracks were easy to assemble for a 7-year-old, a little too hard for the 3-year-old owner. Not sure why Lionel makes the tracks so short, but it's a lot of pieces to snap together. The sounds are really fun and the whistle sounds in particular is "just like the real Thomas". Also appreciated that the train makes a sound if left turned on so you won't forget to turn it off and burn thru batteries. The couplers are a little tricky to figure out, but with a little practice the 3-year-old was managing Thomas's rolling stock with ease. Great train!

The media could not be loaded. I was researching for a good quality Train set for my 3 years old son. Looking at different products and their reviews, I was convinced this train set would be the best option within my budget. I was quite right; the product is really well-made and perfect size for my son. The track is wide enough to hold the train bodies not to derail them. The remote works perfectly good, no glitch, connect right way. The train goes forward as well as backward with different speed which is controlled by the remote. The material and build quality is very good, worth of price. It requires adult's help to put together the track and sometimes to put the train body on the track. And it requires 6 C-batteries and 3 AAA batteries which don't come with. My son is really happy playing this new toy. This is absolutely a great purchase!

Sadly this came damaged but when I contacted customer service they immediately sent a replacement. And of course Thomas is always a hit!

Bought this for my 4 year old grandson’s birthday,. The size of the track and train set is perfect. The tracks are a bit tricky to connect and disconnect, otherwise it’s very easy to set up and use. He loves the remote control for it. It’s also nice that when you turn off the remote, the train will beep as a reminder to turn the train off too. I also like that you can buy additional train track to add to it if desired.

Very durable, works great! Just be prepared for the batteries.

Great train set. Easy to put together. Only problem is that there are two Claribels and no Annie! I contacted Lionel customer service and will update review when I receive a response.Update! Customer service got back to me and is sending out a replacement Annie. Fast friendly customer service and happy kid!

We purchased this for our young grandson for Christmas and, in the two months since, he's come to love it. When he arrives at our house, his first demand is to see Thomas. He's not always gentle in handling the units but they have proven to be sturdy and durable. The track pieces fit together and stay together well and stand up to being walked on by small feet. I even bought extra track to extend the layout. My only concern is that there are a couple of small parts that are easy to remove and could be a choking hazard, fixed with a dab of adhesive. Overall, I've been greatly impressed by the design and quality of this "Ready to Play" product and feel its worthy of the historic Lionel brand.

My 2 1/2 year old is obsessed with this trainset now. The battery lasts forever. The track is easy to put together. The train itself is pretty heavy once you get the batteries in it.... wish the wheels moved when it wasn't on... needs batteries to move the wheels. Noises are fun for awhile, but can get annoying. Overall, highly recommend it.
