If you are going to drive, you need this
Best coverage of road net. Map is made of a coated material that stands up to three weeks of constant folding and unfolding with no sign of wear. It is waterproof for sure as I spilled drinks on it twice. This map is critical for trip planning and "on the run" re-scheduling of your route when you hit (and you WILL!) the 9th unacceptable road construction delay of the day. Combine this with a Tom-Tom GPS unit and you will be able to cruise the entire country with no location problems. The big plus is the extensive coverage of natural and cultural features and game parks and reserves that you might otherwise miss on your drive.

Good general map of South Africa
Just returned from South Africa where we used this map. Despite also having GPS and all the electronic directional info with us, it was REALLY nice to be able to see on the map where we were driving and other possibilities in the area. It is not the most current map but I think the roads don't change much so we had no issue with it not being accurate. Enjoyed having it with us. Also easy to fold into smaller sections and no sign of ripping or wear.

Perfect for Travel
This map is big enough that it is easy to read, but folds up to a compact size small enough to fit into a backpack pouch. The map is male of weather resistant material which is perfect for Africa this time of year.

Maybe we are old school but super helpful
We went back to SA for our second trip but decided to drive ourselves in a rental. Not knowing the availability of signal and connectivity we decided to have a paper map backup. This is very helpful for any person going to SA and wants to have an answer for navigation in case you lose signal. A must have for any traveler.

A great reference
I chose this map for a 3 week land tour of South Africa. It was great to track where we were going each day and gave me an overall concept of the country. I would recommend it for anyone going on such a trip. Others on the tour borrowed it several times for their own reference.

Exactly what I was looking for
I'm planning a trip to South Africa soon and thought it would be interesting to have a paper map of the whole country to help with planning my itinerary. Maybe it's just me but I much prefer having a paper map laid out in front of me instead of endlessly looking at screens. The map is of excellent quality and extremely detailed for the vast span it covers. It is also waterproof and tear-resistant which is a great bonus. It clearly shows the different provinces, towns and cities, detailed road system throughout, all the game and nature reserves including the very smallest ones, the general topography (mountains etc) and even includes sites of special interest such as San rock paintings. I plan on hiring a car and think as a general road map it will also be extremely useful. One thing worth noting however is the map is printed on both sides so you do have to flip it over and see the whole country in 2 parts. Overall I definitely recommend this map for anyone planning a visit to the country, or just for general interest.

El único mapa de carreteras que tenía muy buena pinta pero no resultó tan bueno. Hubiera necesitado el mapa con mucho más detalles porque viajamos en coche, y tuvimos que utilizar el gps más de una vez. Algo que no me hace muchas gracias ya que soy a la vieja usanza, me encantan los mapas

Grundlage und Qualität sehr gut
Bin auf Grundlage dieser Karte einiges in Südafrika abgefahren und war mit der Genauigkeit sehr zufrieden. Lediglich der Straßenzustand (Schotter, Asphalt) stimmte nicht immer. Auch ist das Material (Kunststoff??) aus dem die Karte gemacht ist, ist sehr widerstandsfähig. Alles in allem das Beste was ich in Deutschland auftreiben konnte.

Ottima mappa
È comoda, poco ingombrante e resistente. Sono segnate bene anche le strade sterrate, cosa molto importante in Sudafrica
