great places with lots of info!
We do not like to leave our Truffles home, this book gave us plenty of ideas for our 3 trips a year we do by car. Well written with great hotel info and airline info if we ever choose to go that route.

Didn’t Hit The Spot
I found the info redundant and not what I was hoping for. Disappointed. Someone needs to write a book on a vacation with their dog with true adventures.

Pack your pooch!
Okay, I don't have a dog but everyone one I know---relatives, friends, coworkers--do and this book was the perfect gift for all of them (there are only so many dog sweaters one beagle needs). They LOVED it and are planning to pack up their pooch, and their book, and hit the road this summer. And there are some high end haunts in here too! I've learned that nothing is too good for pet parents, and destinations across America have taken note. Read through this comprehensive guide and you'll be amazed at what is available for pet setters (yappy-hours, blueberry facials). I can't wait for the international version of this 'tail-all' travel guide!

Too broad
I have the "Dog lovers guide to the Pacific Northwest" and the "dog lovers guide to California" and they are a much better buy. They have many more locations and cover all levels from luxury to roughing it as far as lodging goes. I don't think they are from the same group (National Geographic) as this book. I have not reviewed this entire book but the few cities I perused the lodging mentioned is on the very high side. Surely, there are some Best Westerns, etc. somewhere. Beware, this book only covers a few cities/towns in each of six areas in the US, plus a brief mention of 9 cities/areas in Canada. California, for example has only 8 cities/areas mentioned. It is as if NG looked up about 50 cities on the web and copied it into a book. There was a fantastic picture of a bunch of dogs in a pool on page 217 but it is not identified other than it is in Las Vegas. A waste of money, unless you like an overall sampling.

Travel guide for people with dogs
Just recently received this book and I am very excited about it. I have two labs and it is very hard for us to travel with them because alot of hotels do not accept dogs over 25 pounds. Mine are 68 and 72 pounds. This book has it all broken down by City, State, Hotel, Restaurants that you can eat at with you babies and etc. Great info book for anyone that loves to travel with their babies(dogs).

Lots of info not yet verified. One observation is that since this book is being sold in Canada, it would have been more effective if it carried more Canadian content. Having said that, for travelling south of the border, it appears to be fairly comprehensive! Our upcoming retirement will put it to the test!
